This includes the development, filing and prosecution of US and foreign patent applications, maintenance of the company's patent portfolio and clearance of new and revised product designs. Executive Management's emphasis on the development of patent portfolio ensures great visibility and opportunity within the organization.</p> <p>Job Type: In Office (not a Hybrid job) Full-Time located in Indianapolis IN or Franklin TN</p> <p>Salary:</p> <ul> <li>Commensurate with experience </li><li>Compensation plan includes salary + bi-annual bonus </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Paid Time Off (PTO) combines vacation, sick, personal days for flexibility of time off </li><li>Paid Holidays </li><li>Relocation Assistance </li><li>Retirement Plans </li><li>Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance </li><li>Health & Wellness Program Benefits with incentives </li><li>Tuition Reimbursement </li></ul> <p>Core Responsibilities of our Patent Attorney/Agent Intellectual Property Supervisor:</p> <ul> <li>Role reports to President / CEO. </li><li>Supervise administrative aspects of the IP department including personnel, dockets, records, risk assessments and budget </li><li>Monitor departments and design reviews to identify patentable subject matter </li><li>Draft US and foreign patent applications based on reviewed subject matter </li><li>Develop patent illustrations with in-house designer for US & foreign patent applications </li><li>Coordinate office action responses and clearance opinions with outside counsel </li><li>Review and approve new product designs in Phase 2 of the Product Development Process. </li><li>Counsel and provide relevant coaching to company personnel regarding IP matters. </li><li>Assist outside counsel and in-house Legal with potential or existing IP litigation </li><li>Evaluate the patent portfolio with the supervisor for payment of maintenance fees </li><li>Maintain the IP department's virtual patent label program </li><li>Assist the Legal Team with IP licensing and other technology agreements </li><li>Update competitive patent intelligence for Executive Management </li><li>Evaluate competitive products for patent infringement </li><li>Coordinate with marketing to manage the trademark portfolio </li><li>Must have current USPTO registration as a patent agent </li><li>Bachelors in technical discipline </li><li>Patent Agent experience minimum 5 years </li><li>Minimum 2 years supervisory experience (preference in leading an IP team) </li><li>Must have current USPTO registration as a patent attorney or agent </li><li>Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in technical discipline (engineering, hydraulics and/or electronics is preferred) </li><li>Attorneys must have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited US law school </li><li>5 years' experience as a patent agent for a manufacturing concern </li><li>Minimum 2 years supervisory experience (preference in leading an IP team) </li></ul>
