Benefits include:</p> <ul> <li>Generous time off </li><li>A retirement plan that provides two-for-one matching contributions with immediate vesting </li><li>Many choices for comprehensive health insurance </li><li>Life insurance </li><li>Long-term disability coverage </li><li>Flexible spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care expenses </li><li>Maternity and Parental Leave </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities*</p> <ul> <li>Teach a course on Practicum in Hospital Systems, guiding project teams as they address real-world problems for hospital clients and develop skills in technical communication, data analysis, lean methodologies, operations research, project management, and professional ethics. </li><li>Oversee, evaluate, and provide feedback on student projects, with support from faculty and external mentors where applicable. </li><li>Attend all course meetings and provide in-person instruction on the Ann Arbor campus. </li><li>Hold regular office hours and handle routine instructional duties and student communications. </li><li>Ensure course objectives, prerequisites, and credit exclusions are communicated and upheld. </li><li>Utilize resources from the Center for Research on Learning & Teaching to support excellent teaching. </li></ul> <p>For more details about IOE course offerings, visit: https://bulletin.engin.umich.edu/courses/ioe/.</p> <p>Required Qualifications*</p> <ul> <li>PhD degree in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent years teaching courses at the college level. </li><li>Demonstrated teaching effectiveness as evidenced by evaluations or other relevant metrics. </li><li>Commitment to inclusive classroom practices, academic excellence, and student success. </li><li>Familiarity with the administrative tasks associated with teaching at the college level. </li><li>Strong oral presentation and communication skills. </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications*</p> <ul> <li>Ability to teach courses in Industrial and Operations Engineering. </li><li>Familiarity with Learning Management Systems, such as Canvas. </li></ul> <p>Modes of Work</p> <p>Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
