<p>RN Nurse Supervisor</p> <ul> <li>Department: Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Special Care Nursery </li><li>Schedule: Part Time 2nd Shift </li><li>Hospital: Henry Ford Health Genesys </li><li>Location: Grand Blanc, Michigan </li></ul> <p>GENERAL SUMMARY</p> <ul> <li>Supervises, coordinates, and provides leadership while directing activities of clinical/non-clinical or interdisciplinary teams of licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff delivering quality patient care and ensuring implementation of clinical objectives in an assigned area. </li><li>Responsibilities: Assesses daily patient care needs and develops and distributes patient care assignments of clinical/non-clinical or an interdisciplinary team of licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is given. </li><li>In accordance with the applicable State Nurse Practice Act, delegates appropriate duties to clinical/non-clinical or interdisciplinary teams of licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff based on their assessed skills and abilities. </li><li>Gathers information from other members of the clinical/non-clinical or interdisciplinary team and uses this data to plan for the care of all patients on the unit for the shift. </li><li>Evaluates the care delivered by other licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff by providing direct and immediate feedback and coaching, ongoing verbal and written feedback to the clinical/non-clinical leader on the performance of staff and evaluating the performance trends under his/her direction and recommends and participates in corrective/disciplinary action as required. </li><li>Participates in the hiring process for new staff members assigned to the shift by conducting interviews and making hiring recommendations to the clinical/non-clinical leader. </li></ul> <p>Education/Experience Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. </li><li>Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Or Certified Instructor. </li><li>Education: - Requires a graduate of an approved professional (RN) nursing program. </li><li>5 or more years of RN experience in an acute care setting required. </li></ul> <p>Skills / Experience</p> <ul> <li>1 year of leadership or equivalent experience </li><li>2 or more years of experience in Labor/'Delivery, Postpartum, or Special Care Nursery / NICU </li><li>Ability to work effectively and collaborate with different teams, ability to foster a positive and effective work environment with multiple departments. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills and time management skills. </li><li>Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, which includes the ability to communicate clear concise information to staff. </li><li>Active listing and conflict resolution abilities, skilled in communicating sensitive information to patients and families. </li><li>Ability to build strong relationships with peers, physicians, and other departments. </li><li>Demonstrates commitment to continuous quality improvement initiatives. </li><li>Preferred experience with Microsoft Office Suite. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <ul> <li>Organization: Henry Ford Health Genesys Hospital </li><li>Department: Mother Baby Unit 001 </li><li>Shift: Evening Job </li><li>Union Code: Not Applicable </li></ul>
