This is an exciting career opportunity for an individual with a background in fish health or performance!</p> <p>The role</p> <p>The Fish Health Manager is a crucial position that will take a proactive approach leading surveillance and investigative activities alongside the Fish Health Technicians. Responsibilities will include:</p> <ul> <li>Monitoring fish health and disease status through daily reviews of mortality trends, feed behaviour and gill check results. </li><li>Investigating instances of elevated mortality, unusual fish behaviour, and classification errors, ensuring full investigations of Mortality Notifications and implementing management strategies. </li><li>Developing and executing a weekly Gill Check Plan and participating in Bath Planning Meetings to minimise AGD impacts on fish welfare. </li><li>Upholding Huon's Veterinary Health Plan by ensuring compliance, training, and reporting non-compliance issues </li><li>Performing routine algae and jellyfish sampling, tracking environmental trends, and advising on jellyfish mitigation strategies </li><li>Collaborating with Sustainability, IT, and Fish Performance teams to improve fish health monitoring and data reporting. </li></ul> <p>About you</p> <p>With a strong background in fish health, performance, or related sciences, your expertise includes:</p> <ul> <li>Tertiary qualifications in science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. </li><li>A strong understanding of fish biology, water chemistry, and production cycles. </li><li>Proven ability to manage small teams and projects to achieve key outcomes. </li><li>A positive work ethic, effective written and verbal communication, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders. </li><li>Full proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. </li></ul> <p>Huon benefits</p> <ul> <li>Discounted gym membership with our partners. </li><li>Discounted health insurance with our partners. </li><li>Discounted products. </li><li>Access to novated leases through our partners. </li><li>The opportunity to develop professionally and progress your career. </li></ul> <p>Apply now</p> <p>Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
