<p>Structural Manager</p> <p>The Structural Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the Structural Department in support of residential solar installation projects. This role provides both strategic leadership and hands-on operational direction across structural reviews, case management, repairs, scheduling coordination, and customer communication.</p> <p>The Structural Manager works closely with the Engineering team and senior leadership to ensure projects are structurally sound, compliant, and executed efficiently. This individual must possess strong residential construction knowledge, including framing, foundations, and general home building practices, and will lead teams responsible for executing structural and framing work in the field from a management standpoint.</p> <p>This position exercises independent judgment, drives team performance, supports employee development, and partners closely with the Structural Director to ensure quality, safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.</p> <p>The role is primarily office-based with periodic travel to job sites as needed. A company vehicle will be provided.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Oversee and manage the Structural Department, including team leadership, workload distribution, and daily operations. </li><li>Leads structural staff responsible for case management, structural repairs, and field execution support. </li><li>Assigns, reviews, updates, and closes structural cases to ensure timely and accurate completion. </li><li>Provides coaching, training, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members. </li><li>Trains, supports, and develops new employees within the department. </li><li>Partners with the Structural Director on staffing strategy, performance management, and departmental initiatives. </li><li>Ensures teams are properly executing framing and structural work through effective leadership and oversight. </li></ul> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provides overall leadership and operational oversight of structural activities supporting residential solar projects. </li><li>Oversee structural case management, including intake, assignment, progress tracking, and closure. </li><li>Supports structural repair coordination and resolution of field issues. </li><li>Works closely with the Engineering team to review designs, resolve structural concerns, and address complex project requirements. </li><li>Collaborates cross-functionally with operations, installation, permitting, and leadership teams to prevent project delays. </li><li>Reviews projects for structural feasibility, roof integrity, framing requirements, and necessary upgrades or reinforcements. </li><li>Applies strong knowledge of residential construction, framing techniques, and housing foundations to project decisions. </li><li>Coordinates schedules for structural work, inspections, and field activities to support installation timelines. </li><li>Communicates directly with customers regarding structural requirements, timelines, expectations, and issue resolution. </li><li>Oversees and supports field activities when needed, including site visits, inspections, and troubleshooting. </li><li>Identifies operational gaps and implements process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer experience. </li><li>Ensures compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company procedures. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to direct, develop, and motivate teams. </li><li>Extensive knowledge of residential construction, including: </li><li>Framing methods and structural reinforcement </li><li>Housing foundations </li><li>General home building practices </li><li>Roofing systems and load considerations </li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects, teams, and priorities across regions. </li><li>Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Strong customer communication and conflict-resolution abilities. </li><li>Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound operational decisions. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Salesforce experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of five (5) years of experience in residential construction, building trades, structural operations, or related field. </li><li>Prior supervisory or management experience required. </li><li>Experience managing teams executing framing or structural work preferred. </li><li>Residential solar, roofing, or structural engineering experience strongly preferred. </li><li>Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional workflows. </li></ul> <p>Licensing Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must possess an unrestricted Construction Supervisor License (CSL) in Massachusetts. </li><li>Must possess or be willing to obtain a General Contractor (GC) license in Rhode Island. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Occasional travel to job sites. </li></ul>
