<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate execution of all shipping, receiving, material handling, and inventory control activities within a high-volume cable and wire manufacturing environment. This hands-on leader ensures on-time delivery to customers, accurate inbound material receipt, optimal warehouse flow, and inventory accuracy while fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and continuous improvement</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <ul> <li>Supervise, coach, and develop a team of shipper/receivers and material handlers; conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and administer corrective action as needed. </li><li>Create daily work schedules, assign tasks, and adjust staffing to meet fluctuating productivity and shipping demands. </li><li>Oversee outbound shipments (LTL, TL, parcel, export) to achieve on-time delivery goals. </li><li>Coordinate with carriers for pick-ups, negotiate spot rates when needed, and maintain carrier scorecards. </li><li>Analyze and monitor freight to ensure optimal carrier selection to improve overall service and reduce total freight costs. </li><li>Manage inbound receipt of materials and finished goods returns. </li><li>Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, root-cause analysis, and system transactions. </li><li>Monitor inventory levels and work with planning and purchasing to adjust supply plans, and safety stock levels to reduce stock-outs, and over-inventory situations. </li><li>Generate and analyze daily/weekly KPIs. </li><li>Optimize material flow through the lifecycle (receiving dock, raw material storage, production lines, finished goods staging, shipping dock). </li><li>Enforce FIFO principles, proper put-away, and storage to minimize handling and damage. </li><li>Ensure safe and efficient use of forklifts and pallet jacks; maintain equipment PM schedules. </li><li>Maintain a safe work environment and ensure safety standards for employees including OSHA, ISO, and DOT procedures. </li><li>Obey all safety rules, use caution in work activities, and continuously practice safe behaviors. </li><li>Immediately report unsafe conditions/behaviors and work-related injuries to site supervision. </li><li>Perform all other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Core Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication skills. </li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills. </li><li>Strong leadership and conflict-resolution skills; ability to motivate in a fast-paced, 24/5 operation. </li><li>Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, co- workers and managers. </li><li>Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibility</p> <p>This position is responsible for the oversight or performance management of other employees.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Must distinguish colors and pass a colorblind test </li><li>Finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination for operation of office equipment, including PC </li><li>Sitting for periods of time, working at a desk in office environment </li><li>Light lifting, carrying of files, supplies, ability to move, carry, lift up to 30 lbs. of objects </li><li>Ability to speak and hear customers, vendors, and or other employees via phone or in person </li><li>Requires sufficient autonomy, standing and walking to move for one office location to another </li><li>and throughout the plant </li></ul> <p>Travel</p> <p>Little to no travel is expected for this position.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred in Logistics Management, Inventory Control, Business Management, Supply Chain, or related field. </li><li>5 years + related inventory control and logistics experience in manufacturing work environment; demonstrating progressive increase in responsibilities. </li><li>Cable/wire experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Other Duties</p> <p>Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
