<p>Exercise judgment to plan and perform a sequence of operations in the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of HVAC equipment, including refrigeration equipment and commercial kitchen equipment</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <p>An advanced knowledge of the operation and repair of HVAC systems equivalent to 1-2 years practical trades training or previous work experience is required.</p> <p>Must be certified to recover and purchase refrigerants.</p> <p>At least 2 years additional practical experience is required.</p> <p>Must provide own hand tools.</p> <p>A valid driver's license is required; ability to drive both a manual and automatic transmission vehicles.</p> <p>Skills and Knowledge Responsibilities</p> <p>Trouble shoot, diagnose and repair/replace pneumatic, electric and air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilating equipment.</p> <p>Remove, repair and install compressors, blowers, burners, motors, fans and drive equipment, belts, bearing, etc.</p> <p>Oil and grease motors and associated compressor equipment.</p> <p>May be required to perform duties of Steamfitter.</p> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Standing 65% - 90% of the shift</p> <ul> <li>Frequent bending at the waist; able to bend to below the knee (50% - 80% of shift) </li><li>Frequent stooping and/or crouching (50% - 80% of shift) </li><li>Frequent twisting and bending of head, neck, and torso (75% - 95% of shift) </li><li>Full range of arm movement (extension, twisting, and bending of arm and shoulder, reaching overhead, etc. (50% - 95%) </li><li>Visual and cognitive capability sufficient to troubleshoot and diagnose problems and make repairs; able to read and interpret blueprints </li><li>Wrist and finger dexterity sufficient to use and operate a variety of hand tools, run wiring etc. </li><li>May need to work on a ladder, scaffolds, bucket truck, or at other elevated heights </li><li>Able to drive vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions </li><li>Able to climb up into and down from truck cab </li><li>May be required to work in tight spaces </li><li>Able to work in extreme heat and cold </li><li>Able to lift up to 50 pounds </li><li>Push/pull up to 100 lbs. </li><li>May be exposed to dust strong odors, chemicals, oils and solvents </li></ul> <p>Tools/Equipment</p> <p>Operate test equipment including volt OHM meter, amprobe, recovery equipment and refrigeration gages.</p> <p>Use a variety of electrical and hand tools including electrical pliers, screwdrivers, crescent wrenches, tube cutters, etc.</p> <p>Application Instructions</p> <p>.</p>
