Our talented staff of more than 650+ professionals deliver integrated planning, design, engineering and construction solutions.</p> <p>Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for a (position) to assist with our projects in Canton, MI!</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Administrative Duties</p> <ul> <li>Log-in samples and consolidate by project and urgency. </li><li>Scan and organize control documents. </li></ul> <p>Technical Duties</p> <ul> <li>Calibrate laboratory equipment and reagents. </li><li>Properly handle chemicals such as; Hydrochloric Acid, Tetrahydra-Furan, Butane, etc. </li><li>Prepare and analyze bulk building materials (i.e. drywall systems, insulation, flooring, etc.) for asbestos analysis via Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM). </li><li>Identify different types of asbestos, non-asbestos fibers, and other essential non-fibrous components. </li><li>Assist with quality control activities for consistency and accuracy. </li></ul> <p>General Duties</p> <ul> <li>Adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements (ISO 17025) </li><li>Adhere to health and safety protocols, including using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring proper disposal of hazardous materials. </li><li>Maintain a clean work station. </li></ul> <p>Skills, Knowledge and Expertise</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>Currently enrolled in a degree program in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Geology or another related field. </li><li>Strong interest in laboratory work, environmental health, and safety. </li><li>Organizational skills and attention to detail. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li></ul> <p>Recommended</p> <ul> <li>Currently enrolled or graduated in a degree program in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Geology or another related field. </li><li>Experience with technical equipment </li><li>Experience in a laboratory setting </li><li>Optical Mineralogy </li><li>Microsoft Excel experience </li></ul> <p>#LI-KK1</p> <p>Benefits</p> <ul> <li>401(k) w/ company match </li><li>Health insurance w/ HSA option, Vision, Dental, Life </li><li>Flexible schedule </li><li>Paid time off </li><li>Referral program </li><li>Tuition reimbursement </li><li>Catalytic Coaching - Employees draft a development plan aimed at improving contributions in their current job and increasing the potential for other opportunities.
