This law is intended to improve wage transparency. The City of Greeley, in support of wage transparency posts both the full salary range for each position (what you might anticipate your earnings could be if you work for the City of Greeley for some time), as well as the anticipated hiring range (the range within which the City anticipates making an offer). This package includes health and wellness, retirement savings, discounted access to Greeley facilities and more.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Asset Technician is responsible for supporting the development, maintenance, and accuracy of the Public Works infrastructure asset database. This role includes digitizing maps, entering and managing spreadsheet and GIS data, preparing digital maps and reports for capital improvement and special projects, and assisting with infrastructure system planning and management. The position plays a key role in maintaining and updating the department's asset and maintenance management systems, ensuring accurate inventory records for both infrastructure assets (e.g., traffic signals, irrigation systems, lighting) and department resources (e.g., equipment, repair parts). The Asset Technician works with various divisions to ensure data integrity, support project planning, and enhance operational efficiency through effective asset tracking.</p> <p>Experience, Knowledge, Skills:</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree (two-year degree) in GIS or related field, or completion of a certification program of comparable length. </li><li>Proficiency with GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online, including experience with map creation, spatial analysis, and data management. </li><li>Understanding of spatial data concepts, coordinate systems, and geodatabases. </li><li>Possession of a valid driver's license. </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <p>Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job,</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Data collection methods and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) or CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) software. </li><li>Ability to edit, analyze, and visualize geospatial data to support planning and decision-making </li><li>Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to examine and summarize data and trends in order to resolve issues and produce results. </li><li>Critical thinking skills, including the ability to identify problems, questions, and assumptions; establish significance; and understand logical connections between ideas. </li><li>Research skills, including the ability to utilize a variety of tools to ask questions, gather information, and review, analyze, and interpret data. </li><li>Computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), ERSI ArcGIS Suite 9.3 or higher, AUTOCAD version 12 or higher, and learn and experiment with new software and systems. </li><li>Interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate interaction, communication, and teamwork between others. </li><li>Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple concurrent and competing tasks and responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining personal effectiveness. </li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and reliable professional judgment, as well as collaboratively with a team to achieve desired results. </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in day-to-day operations of the existing Public Works GIS/Asset Management program. </li><li>Accurately and completely enters data into a computer system using keyboards, scanners, Trimble GPS receivers, and/or digitizer equipment </li><li>Read and interpret engineering documents such as blueprints, schematics, layouts, and construction maps. </li><li>Communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in meetings with internal staff and external stakeholders. </li><li>Utilize GIS software and tools to create, update, and maintain accurate map products, ensuring consistency with real-world coordinates and map scales. </li><li>Receives and interprets instructions and assignments, written or verbal, and produces desired product </li><li>Uses GIS tools in conjunction with map graphics, map scale, and real-world coordination systems, develops and maintains GIS map products. </li><li>Operates a variety of computer equipment and software packages. </li><li>Tracks and captures data associated with utility systems. </li><li>Works in alignment with guidance of the Asset Management Team to maintain existing or create new data set. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <p>n/a</p> <p>Travel:</p> <p>Occasional travel locally to site visits;
