<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Under the guidance of the Customer Service Manager, the Senior Telephone Support Clerk is responsible to promptly answer incoming telephone calls, provide courteous service to callers, handle billing or patient concerns and handle updates to insurance billing information of existing accounts. This includes effectively addressing caller concerns during the initial phone call or responding timely with resolution. The Senior Telephone Support Clerk is also responsible for providing complete follow-through on necessary actions and escalation of internal processing issues to the Management Team to prevent re-occurrence of any errors. The Senior Telephone Support Clerk may also be required to handle written correspondence from patients and/or insurance companies</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>For consideration for this title, you must meet one of the following minimum qualifications:</p> <p>NYS Department of Civil Service Eligible list or eligible for transfer</p> <p>Or</p> <p>Promotional:</p> <p>Must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as an office assistant, clerical or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 5 or higher. Qualifying titles are available at: https://www.cs.ny.gov/examannouncements/announcements/38687titles.cfm</p> <p>Or</p> <p>Open competitive (Non-competitive, NY HELPS) Qualifications:</p> <p>One year of clerical experience where majority of work time is spent performing mathematical operations, and/or clerical activities related to mathematical operations.</p> <p>Work Days:</p> <p>Schedule based on a 40 hour work week.
