<p>We are on the hunt for an experienced Mechanic at our Sylacauga, AL terminal.</p> <p>The Mechanic is responsible for repairs and the maintenance of Class-8 diesel powered tractors and tank trailers, both internal and external customers, as well as ensuring the road worthiness of company equipment.</p> <ul> <li>We operate late model tractors and trailers! </li><li>Up to $30/hour based on experience </li><li>1st Shift: 7:30AM - 2:30PM </li><li>$1.00/hour 2nd Shift Differential - 2PM - 10:30PM </li></ul> <p>The ideal candidate will have:</p> <ul> <li>Maintenance background in the trucking industry. </li><li>Experience with Kenworth tractors. </li><li>Experience with Cummins engines. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers while utilizing personal safety equipment as required </li><li>Move trucks and trailers in and out of shop for maintenance </li><li>Open repair orders and charge the appropriate parts to the repair order </li><li>Perform tire inspections/appropriate paperwork to company standards </li><li>Perform shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities as well as other miscellaneous related duties as assigned </li><li>Inspects and maintains basic vehicle/accessorial worthiness including proper fuel levels and tire air pressure, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and safety equipment and submits reports indicating condition of equipment </li><li>Comprehend and perform Driver Vehicle Inspection Repair (DVIR) process </li><li>Install, diagnose and repair Geotab telematic devices </li><li>Perform trailer preps </li><li>Trailer and hose inspections per HM-183 standards </li><li>Perform work on frame rail and sub frame </li><li>Possesses and demonstrates the ability to perform assigned tasks in a manner that adheres to the companies Safety, Health, Environmental and Security policies </li></ul> <p>Diagnose and repair:</p> <ul> <li>Tire/wheel </li><li>Brakes & Air Systems </li><li>Clutch, Linkage and Transmission </li><li>Mud flaps/hangers </li><li>Air intake system </li><li>Start, charging and electrical systems </li><li>Landing gear and attachments </li><li>In transit heat systems </li><li>Coolant Systems </li><li>HVAC System </li><li>Fuel System </li><li>Exhaust Systems </li><li>Electrical Systems </li><li>Steering and Suspension </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Paid vacation and holidays </li><li>401k (Company % Match) </li><li>Medical, Vision, Dental Insurance, Company Life Insurance Policy </li><li>Weekly pay & additional benefits </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>ASE certification not required but recommended </li><li>Computer experience a plus </li><li>Must provide own hand tools </li></ul> <p>Job Features</p> <p>Job CategoryMechanic</p>
