<p>Job Description:</p> <p>JOB TITLE: Reading CoTeacher / Special Education (gr 1-4)</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Education</p> <p>SUPERVISED BY: Director of Education</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>The ideal Reading CoTeacher should have a passion for reading and an understanding of special education and the impact of trauma on learning. The teacher would be paired with certified special education teachers with a targeted caseload of 6 - 9 students. Working under the supervision of the Director of Education, this role combines Coteaching with teachers engaged in evidence-based literacy practices with direct reading intervention to students. The Reading CoTeacher will play a critical role in analyzing student data, guiding instructional decisions, and fostering a school-wide culture of literacy.</p> <p>This position is an excellent fit for teachers with a strong science of reading background who just want part time flexible hours and retired educators eager to stay connected to their passion for teaching and literacy. We are very flexible as we build our literacy model and understand that talent comes from education, work and life experiences. Our students need your desire to connect and instruct so they can achieve their goals as they move through the grades and back to their sending Districts. The CCGC has been serving the community since 1959 and presently have students from 16 towns surrounding Manchester.</p> <p>.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Partnering with teachers in developing students reading skills (evidence-based practices aligned with the science of reading). </li><li>Provide direct reading services to students who are developing skills - individually and/or a small group. </li><li>Collect and analyze student reading data, use data to inform targeted interventions, and assist students in accessing grade-level content. </li><li>Instill a sense of urgency and investment around foundational reading skills within the staff and communicate school wide growth and trends. </li><li>Support a school-wide culture of literacy by sharing best practices, resources, and professional development related to effective reading instruction </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Consideration provided to applicants with one or more of the following endorsements:</p> <p>165 Comprehensive Special Education, PreK-12</p> <p>305 Elementary, 1-6</p> <p>097 Reading and Language Arts Consultant</p> <p>102 Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts, 1-12</p> <p>113 Integrated Early Childhood/Elementary Education N-3 and Special Education N-K</p>
