Reviews hours recorded for accuracy and post to ERP system. Maintains and prepares reconciliations of payroll related general ledger accounts. Organizes and maintains payroll accounting records and state and corporate filings. Supports the audit processes.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Reviews electronic timesheets for timeliness and proper approval, works with employees and managers for missing timesheets, and reviews the information for completeness and accuracy </li><li>Prepares and enters the payroll journal entries in the general ledger accounts and prepares monthly reconciliations of all payroll accounts </li><li>Maintains and prepares monthly reconciliation payroll related balance sheet accounts and prepares required adjusting journal entries for management's review </li><li>Updates and maintains ADP and the ERP system for bi-weekly payroll changes, new hires and terminations, and processing the data in ADP </li><li>Prepares ESOP Census and other ESOP reports </li><li>Prepares H.S.A. and F.S.A. funding and reconciliations </li><li>Analyzes and investigates reconciling items to resolve discrepancies </li><li>Assists in the W-2 income inclusion process to ensure compliance with tax regulations </li><li>Acts as back up for payroll processing </li><li>Prepares and maintains monthly reports for management </li><li>Prepares information for the financial, overhead, and benefit plan audits </li><li>Prepares and maintains state registrations and filings </li><li>Maintains worker's compensation classifications </li><li>Assists with annual insurance renewal applications </li><li>Maintains the organization of the payroll document directory </li><li>Supports other roles in the accounting department as necessary </li><li>Completes projects, reports and analysis as requested by management </li><li>Assumes other accounting responsibilities assigned by management </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:</p> <p>Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) </li><li>Knowledge of general ledger, payroll processing, employee benefits and employee withholdings </li><li>Knowledge of ADP </li><li>Knowledge and understanding of payroll tax laws </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Detail-Oriented - ability to achieve accuracy and thoroughness when accomplishing a task; pays attention to details and is able to understand what caused a certain outcome </li><li>Organizational Skills - can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish goals; uses resources effectively and efficiently; arranges information and files in a useful manner </li><li>Investigation Skills - ability to analyze and retrieve data from multiple sources </li><li>Team Oriented - can work effectively within a group setting and collaborate among multiple colleagues </li><li>Analytical Skills - ability to use clear, logical steps and excellent judgment to understand an issue from all angles before executing an action, detecting patterns, observation, interpreting data, making decisions based on multiple factors and options </li><li>Judgment and Decision-Making Skills - ability to make reasoned judgments that are logical and well thought out; constructively questioning and analyzing information in order to make the best conclusion </li><li>Written Communication Skills - ability to clearly deliver a message through written words in a professional manner using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation </li><li>Speech Clarity - ability to speak clearly and in a common language so that others can understand you </li><li>Interpersonal - ability to interact positively and work effectively with others </li><li>Data Entry - can effectively enter, maintain, and retrieve processed data both accurately and efficiently with minimal mistakes </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Accounting degree and minimum two years of experience </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS: (The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee</p> <p>to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
