<p>PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provides instruction to students with Emotional Disabilities, Autism, or other special needs in a setting where the emphasis is on communication and social skills, academic and functional skill instruction, and positive behavioral supports. Plans and implements daily-individualized instructional and behavioral intervention plans and effective curricula. Manages classroom setting by utilizing positive behavior supports, visual strategies and schedules, and instructional technology to create a structured environment which supports student success.</p> <p>Models the NHREC Strategic Plan values: Equity, Engagement, Experience, Collaboration, Career Readiness, and Empowerment. Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor or Master's degree in Special Education </li><li>Qualify for a Virginia Teaching License with endorsement in general curriculum or adapted curriculum </li><li>Experience as a special education teacher is desired </li><li>Experience working with students with Emotional Disabilities or Autism is desired </li></ul> <p>Fully VDOE licensed SpEd teachers paid on NNPS pay scale.</p>
