<p>Environmental Educator in northern Winnebago County</p> <p>Nature at the Confluence Position Responsibilities: Assist with a variety of tasks including: • Assist with NATC programs as needed - working with school children, and adults. • Meet and greet visitors to NATC. • Work with volunteers, develop volunteer work days • Maintain trails by mowing, clearing and trail making • Assist with administrative tasks as needed. • Grounds keeping, garden and building care and maintenance. • You may become involved with researching nature-based topics, writing blogs, planning and executing social media, program planning for NATC. • Habitat restoration, seed collection and other natural resource tasks. Skills Desired: A good candidate will offer the following skills/attributes: • Ability to communicate clearly (written and verbal) • Ability to work comfortably with, and direct, volunteers. • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment. • Understanding of and passion for NATC's mission. • Strong passion for the outdoors and willingness to get their hands dirty. Requirements • Interest in the outdoors and nature • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. • Must be willing to drive Polaris Ranger and run power equipment, such as field mower. This is a 450 hour AmeriCorps position that will receive a cost of living stipend of $4,725 and a federal education award of $1824.07 upon completion of the term of service.
