Be the difference.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Under the general supervision and at the direction of the attending physician, cardiovascular-thoracic surgeon, member of the medical staff, and Chief Perfusionist, be responsible for the operation of the heart-lung machine, intra-aortic balloon, cell saver, Gem 6 Analyzer, and Hemotech ACT, Hepcon Heparin Management system, blood gas analyzer, coagulation management devices, ventricular assist devices, Intra-operative blook component separation devices, etc.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li> <p>All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Be the difference</p> </li><li> <p>Confers with surgeons regarding the nature of the procedure to be performed and gather necessary information about the patient to be used in conjunction with the operation of the heart-lung machine.</p> </li><li> <p>Operates heart-lung machine during the surgical procedure performing necessary functions to maintain patient's condition.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors a variety of physiologic parameters during surgical procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for maintaining familiarity with physiologic monitoring and recording other procedures so he/she can perform these as directed.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains accurate records of each perfusion as a permanent copy of the medical record.</p> </li><li> <p>Follows laboratory's procedures for handling specimens, processing, test analyses, and reporting results; maintains quality control records for blood gas, hematocrit, and electrolyte analyzer on a daily basis all point of care testing in the department; documents all corrective actions associated with quality control testing; maintains records demonstrating that proficiency testing samples are tested and reported to an external source.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for the administration of blood under the direction of the patient's attending physician.</p> </li><li> <p>Administers IV fluids as well as such drugs Vasopressor, Vasodilators, Anti-coagulants and other drugs ordered by the physician in conjunction with the operation of the heart-lung machine.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages and assists with insertion of Intra-aortic balloon pumps.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages and assists with cardio-pulmonary support devices ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages and assists with insertion of ventricular assist devices (Abiomed) etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Supervisory/Management Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education - Bachelor's degree in related field of study.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience - No experience required</p> </li></ul> <p>In Lieu Of</p> <ul> <li>NA </li></ul> <p>Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses</p> <ul> <li>Clinical Perfusionist (ABCP) </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>NA </li></ul> <p>Work Shift</p> <p>Day (United States of America)</p> <p>Location</p> <p>Greenville Memorial Med Campus</p> <p>Facility</p> <p>1008 Greenville Memorial Hospital</p> <p>Department</p> <p>10086164 Perfusion</p> <p>Share your talent with us!
