<p>Position Summary</p> <p>As the Physician, you will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive care or adult populations.</p> <p>You will also be responsible for:</p> <ul> <li>Attending to the medical needs of inmates, diagnosing and treating illness and injuries and arranging for professional consultation when warranted, </li><li>Supervising, in conjunction with the Medical Director, the development and implementation of treatment protocols and inmate flow charts, </li><li>Meeting with the Medical Director and Administrative Staff to address and solve problems of mutual concerns, </li><li>Collaborating with the General Health Service/Unit Staff in formulating medical policies, operational procedures and implementation of these policies at the unit level, </li><li>Taking on-call as directed by the Medical Director and serves on committees. </li></ul> <p>As the Physician, you will be responsible for professional medical services to residents in accordance with American Medical Association "Standards for Health Services in Prisons" published in 1979 and subsequent revisions thereof, and the Bureau of Health Services policies, the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) Standards of Health Services, and DHS/WRC Procedures and Standards.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>The starting pay rate* is between $123.00 and $147.13 per hour (approximately $230,200 and $275,400 annually), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits.</p> <ul> <li> <p>*Pay rate includes an add-on of $21.00 per hour for board certification. The add-on for board certification eligibility is $7.00 per hour.</p> </li><li> <p>A 12-month probationary period is required.</p> </li><li> <p>Pay for current or former state employees is set based upon the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is in pay schedule and range 10/51.</p> </li></ul> <p>Job Details</p> <p>All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.</p> <p>All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by WRC or medical personnel approved by the facility within 30 days of the start date.</p> <p>DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. DHS is not an E-Verify employer nor a STEM-OPT eligible employer.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>At a minimum, you'll need the following:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Licensure or eligible* for licensure to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin.</p> </li><li> <p>Possess DEA Registration or be eligible* to obtain DEA Registration.</p> </li><li> <p>Board certified or eligible for board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience performing basic physical examination techniques and applying general medical therapeutics.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience diagnosing and treating acutely and chronically ill patients.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Candidate must obtain by time of appointment.</p> </li></ul> <p>Candidate must be board certified within two years of hire.</p> <p>For a guide on developing your resume and what should be included, click here.</p> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>Applying is easy!
