If you want to use your skills to build a healthier, more resilient community, we encourage you to apply.</p> <p>This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Charleston Dorchester Mental Health Center, Tri County Stabilization Center 3685 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, SC 29405.</p> <p>Under limited supervision the Counselor will provide support, clinical treatment, education, consultative and preventive mental health services to patients at Tri-County Crisis Stabilization Unit to enhance recovery.</p> <p>Responsibilities for the Counselor:</p> <ul> <li>Provide quality person-centered care as demonstrated by the use of evidenced-based clinical interventions. </li><li>Provide all forms of direct clinical services, including PRS group, and PRS individual as credentialed by the Center and measured by a productivity expectation. </li><li>Collect, organize and record data and information for medical records in accordance with QI guidelines that is reflective of quality patient care. </li><li>Demonstrate recognition of importance of collaboration, customer services, and teamwork with the Center, TCSC, and the community. </li><li>Attend all trainings classified mandatory by Federal and State regulations and Center policy. Complies with all OMH/CDMHC/TCSC policies and protocols, applicable Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance and Cultural Competence, and CARF policies, procedures and regulations, and all Federal and State laws. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences and professional experience in human services or social services programs </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>This position is considered essential and may require reporting for duty in the event of weather or similar emergency events. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Post hire, employees must:</p> <ul> <li>Have working knowledge of Mental Health legal principles and practices, of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling and educational services. </li><li>Have considerable knowledge of psychopathology and patient management in psychiatric setting. </li><li>Have working knowledge of basic health and welfare services provided by other agencies. </li><li>Be able to effectively plan, coordinate and manage complex treatment and to the ability to conduct detailed investigations, draw conclusions and recommend required actions. </li></ul> <p>Available Shifts</p> <p>Sunday -Thursday 11:00 pm -7:00am</p> <p>The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions including, but not limited, to lactation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.</p> <p>Supplemental questions are considered part of your official application.
