<p>PLEASE BE SURE TO SUBMIT A RESUME WITH YOUR APPLICATION </p> <p>HOURLY RATE: $24.00/hr</p> <p>SCHEDULE:</p> <p>Monday - Friday</p> <p>9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (may occasionally extend to 7:00 p.m.)</p> <p>May work between 20 to 40 hours per week</p> <p>The Dream Resource Center Resource Advocate supports the academic success, personal development, and overall wellbeing of undocumented, AB 540, DACA, and mixed-status students. While primarily based on the main campus, the Resource Advocate will also dedicate a portion of their time to supporting students at the Foothill Campus (noncredit division). This position is ideal for an emerging professional passionate about equity in adult education, social justice, and community-based advocacy.</p> <p>EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Provide in-person and virtual front-desk support at both the main and noncredit campuses, including greeting students, answering questions, and connecting them to appropriate services. </li><li>Conduct proactive outreach to undocumented and mixed-status students, including those in noncredit and ESL programs, about campus and community resources, academic deadlines, financial aid opportunities, and Dream Center programming. </li><li>Assist students in accessing legal services, mental health resources, academic counseling, and financial aid guidance, including support with the CA Dream Act and FAFSA. </li><li>Answer questions related to registration, enrollment, noncredit pathways, and help resolve holds by referring students to appropriate campus departments. </li><li>Develop and lead student-centered workshops and presentations on topics such as immigrant rights, financial wellness, scholarship navigation, wellness, and career planning, tailoring content for both credit and noncredit audiences. </li><li>Assist with planning, logistics, and outreach for programs like orientation (including ESL and adult re-entry students), support groups, advocacy training, and end-of-semester celebrations. </li><li>Coordinate and deliver classroom presentations, outreach visits, and tabling events in collaboration with faculty, student clubs, and student support programs. </li><li>Help foster a supportive and inclusive campus environment through cross-departmental collaborations that intentionally include noncredit students. </li><li>Assist with content creation and distribution of flyers, newsletters, and social media to raise awareness about Dream Center services, ensuring materials are accessible to multilingual and noncredit student populations. </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Applicants should be in or beginning a graduate program in counseling, higher education, psychology, sociology, social work, ethnic studies, or related field and have at least 2 semesters remaining to complete the program; OR </li><li>Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in a related field; and at least 2 years of experience in education or the nonprofit sector in a role supporting student success or immigrant communities. </li></ul>
