Eligibility and Employer Sponsored Plans can be found within each of the links offered.</p> <p>Essential Job Duties</p> <p>The Department of Health and Exercise Studies (HES) at North Carolina State University seeks applications for full-time non-tenure track faculty position(s) at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor for the upcoming Fall 2026 semester.</p> <p>Teaching and grading one (1) credit-hour undergraduate physical activity courses will be the main focus for the position. Examples include aerobics, water aerobics, high intensity interval training (HIIT), functional movement, cycling, running, weight training, etc.</p> <p>Other Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Departmental and university committee participation as appropriate. </li><li>Teaching physical activity courses will be the main focus for the position. </li><li>Teaching other lecture-based courses may be possible as scheduling allows. </li><li>Presenting at multiple professional workshops, clinics, conferences, or conventions appropriate to area of expertise during the appointment is expected at the Assistant Teaching Professor level. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Lecturer: Master's degree in related discipline, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience is required. </li><li>Assistant Teaching Professor: Doctoral Degree in related discipline, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience is required. </li></ul> <p>Rank will be awarded based on education and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.</p> <p>Other Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Pedagogical training and experience teaching physical activity courses. </li><li>Examples include: aerobics, water aerobics, high intensity interval training (HIIT), functional movement, cycling, running, weight training, etc. </li><li>Candidates must be able to teach and assess fitness concepts that support lifelong physical activity and adapt instruction for varied learners. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience teaching at the college or university level is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Required License(s) or Certification(s)</p> <ul> <li>Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification, or willingness to obtain upon employment is required and must be maintained. </li></ul> <p>Valid NC Driver's License required No Commercial Driver's License required No</p>
