<p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Office of the Dean of College of Arts and Sciences administers the academics of the college. Directly and through academic departments and programs, the dean's office deals with a wide range of academic issues, including hiring and promotion of faculty members, faculty development, curriculum, and education policy.</p> <p>The assistant will provide accurate and timely information by answering the office phone or greeting guests who visit the office. Additionally, this student would be expected to support the Dean's office in constructing basic documents, making copies, proofreading, creating announcements, filing and scanning as directed. The ideal candidate will be reliable, responsible possess strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Answer and route phone calls, greet and direct visitors </li><li>Electronically file reports and documents utilizing Google Drive. </li><li>Assist office staff with events, catering, and supplies </li><li>Research and compile faculty scholarship information; collect information from websites and assemble into a unified document </li><li>Ability to design best practice tools and templates for greater efficiency </li><li>Assist with graphic design requests for high level presentation materials for organizational communication </li><li>Office duties including stocking and inventory of supplies, sorting and distributing the mail. </li><li>Special projects as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Computer Skills - Word and Excel experience preferred. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communications skills and strong attention to detail. </li><li>Ability to work independently and/or as a team member. </li><li>Outstanding professional demeanor and excellent customer service and phone etiquette. </li><li>Ability to use good judgement and to exercise discretion.
