<p>Description</p> <p>Job Summary and Qualifications</p> <p>The Senior Clinical Informaticist - Pharmacy position is responsible for the successful maintenance and implementation of a standardized medication content program for the Ambulatory EHR. This will include the facilitation and support of a medication management process, the facilitation of clinical and medication content development, and the ongoing support of a standard medication content model. Medication content will include prescribed medications, immunizations, therapeutic injections and other medication content builds utilized for the successful implementation and use of the application. The position requires solid medication and clinical knowledge and the ability to facilitate and communicate discussions built around specialty content development within the EHR application.</p> <p>The Senior Clinical Informaticist - Pharmacy is also responsible for medication workflow development and recommendations for practice users. He/she will serve as the medication expert for the use of EHR and suggest workflows to enhance practice efficiency and streamline provider/staff documentation. He/she will work closely with the Physician Services Group (PSG) Chief Medical Information Officer and PSG Information Technology & Systems (IT&S) departments to stay abreast of new system releases and create workflows for new/enhanced functionality.</p> <p>The Senior Clinical Informaticist - Pharmacy also assists with facilitation for EHR implementation efforts, for both centrally-led implementations and division-led implementations, from a medication content and medication workflow recommendation perspective. Depending on the specialty, he/she may be required to build new medication content within the system to accommodate a new practice or help with provider's transition to our HCA-hosted version of eClinicalWorks EHR. The Senior Clinical Informaticist - Pharmacy will also assist in optimization efforts/projects and provide medication expertise for more efficient use of the EHR. The position requires interaction with all organizational levels with an in-depth understanding and appreciation for medication and clinical information, workflow analysis, and technology's capabilities, limitations, and impact on clinical practices. The candidate must be results-oriented with a demonstrated strong commitment and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.</p> <p>DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:</p> <ul> <li>Works full time to support the EHR program with a focus on the Ambulatory EHR; coordinates and implements a broad range of standard medication content for outpatient clinicians, ensuring and supporting a consistent focus on physicians and their specialty </li><li>Establishing best practices and guiding principles for medication content development, use, and maintenance within a common EHR framework </li><li>Collaborates with Clinical Services Group (CSG) partners to ensure HCA's clinical initiatives are front and center during PSG's EHR implementation initiative and ongoing rollout of new functionality and process enhancements </li><li>Able to develop and facilitate the medication content design process and ongoing maintenance process </li><li>Establish and maintain effective relationships with clinical professionals and other stakeholders across the enterprise by recruiting clinicians leadership, input, and buy-in for the content design and maintenance process </li><li>Facilitates effective communication among all team members to ensure comprehensive understanding of needs, expectations, and requirements </li><li>Evaluation of possible medication content sources to establish best possible starting point for the development of HCA medication and clinical content including medication management, goals and outcomes </li><li>Collaborate with Director on the design, development and maintenance of medication content, reporting and workflow solutions for ambulatory EHR applications to meet compliance and contractual requirements, including government programs, HCA initiatives, and corporate/division/facility requirements </li><li>Able to effectively guide clinical resources through the design of medication content </li><li>Able to serve as a medication content subject matter expert and represent multiple specialties for clinical aspects of eClinicalWorks EHR including medication workflows and documentation requirements to capture government programs and quality needs </li><li>Collaborate with IT&S, PSG, and other stakeholders to help define the use and integration of HCAs medication content into clinical applications, including documentation of master file build, change management, and training materials </li><li>Focused on providing high-quality medication analysis and support to all of the AEHR team and PSG eClinicalWorks users </li><li>Able to identify risks and opportunities regarding the design, implementation, and future use of medication content across the enterprise </li><li>Establish and maintain effective relationships with clinical champions and other stakeholders across the enterprise by working with Director and division EHR teams to recruit clinicians' leadership, input, and buy-in for the medication content, quality, and workflow design and maintenance process </li><li>Collaborate on the development of best practices and guiding principles for medication content development, use, and maintenance within a common EHR framework </li><li>Participate in the creation of clinical implementation toolkits for deployment across ambulatory facilities </li><li>Assist with defining reports for medication management and clinical outcomes </li><li>Assist, and support EHR team leads and members in the implementation of the medication content, including onsite support and providing documentation for preparation, status and issues to various parts of the organization including senior management, CSG, PSG, division and facility executives/leadership as requested </li><li>Assist in medication safety and risk reduction projects </li><li>Serve as an application expert for the medication components of the EHR </li><li>Provide recommendations for the effectiveness of training strategies and materials and recommends changes </li><li>Participates in the definition of project success criteria and defines metrics to be collected, analyzed and reported </li><li>Participates in the development of optimization tools, from a medication perspective </li><li>Work on other activities, as necessary, to support the Ambulatory EHR team </li><li>Ensure process area adherence to clinical standards of practice across the HCA ambulatory facilities </li><li>Practices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement" </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>Pharm.D required; Pharmacy Residency preferred </li><li>At least 5 years pharmacy experience preferably in ambulatory care or retail </li><li>Pharmacy compounding experience preferred </li><li>Experience in training providers and their staff </li><li>Experience in the project management and implementation of Ambulatory EHR system(s) preferred </li><li>Must demonstrate working knowledge of EHR systems </li><li>Ability to travel up to 20% </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <p>HCA Healthcare offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
