The coordinator will also serve as a liaison to the department's External Advisory Board, supporting its mission to enhance student success by fostering professional connections, mentoring relationships, and experiential learning opportunities</p> <ul> <li>NOTE: Last day to apply is Wednesday, December 17, 2025 @ 11:59 PM </li></ul> <p>What you'll do in this position:</p> <p>Career Coordinator</p> <ul> <li>Organize networking events and career panels to connect students with professionals </li><li>Collaborate with faculty and university and college-level career services to identify and promote internship and job opportunities </li><li>Advise students on career options and networking </li><li>Support the Department's External Advisory Board in its efforts to connect students with internships, research opportunities, and alumni mentors </li><li>Create and maintain database of possible employers and potential mentors </li></ul> <p>Alumni Engagement</p> <ul> <li>Organize alumni events to connect students with alumni and alumni with department </li><li>Coordinate departmental efforts to track student outcomes and alumni engagement </li><li>Maintain communication channels (e.g., newsletters, LinkedIn groups) to foster an active alumni network </li><li>Update BYU Alumni database with correct contact information </li></ul> <p>What qualifies you for this role:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>A firm commitment to the mission of BYU. </li><li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty, students, and external partners </li><li>Organizational skills and attention to detail </li><li>Proficient in the English language, with strong grammar and sentence structure skills </li><li>Microsoft Office Experience </li><li>Willingness to learn new skills </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as physics or a related discipline </li><li>Experience in hiring in STEM industries, career services, or alumni relations </li><li>Familiarity with the career paths of physics and astronomy graduates </li><li>Experience using career services platforms (e.g., Handshake, LinkedIn) </li><li>Background in event planning or program coordination </li></ul> <p>What we offer in return:</p> <p>This position comes with fantastic benefits, including:</p> <ul> <li>401k.
