<p>Souderton, PA</p> <p>Perm Placement Eotm 3193</p> <p>$0.00/</p> <p>Settlement Officer</p> <ul> <li>Job Description </li><li>Branch Details </li></ul> <p>A Settlement Officer, also known as a Settlement Agent or Conveyancer, plays a critical role in facilitating and finalizing real estate transactions.</p> <p>Key responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Handling the settlement process: This includes preparing the final settlement statements (such as the Closing Disclosure Form, ALTA Settlement Statement, or HUD-1 Settlement Statement) and ensuring that all conditions of the purchase and sale agreement are met prior to closing. </li><li>Conducting the closing: Performing the closing ceremony with all parties involved, ensuring accurate and timely disbursement of funds, notarizing and executing necessary documents, and addressing any last-minute issues that may arise. </li><li>Relationship management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with various stakeholders, including real estate agents, lenders, buyers, and sellers, providing exceptional customer service and promoting the company's services. </li><li>Document management: Ensuring all settlement documents are properly completed, filed, and organized, and preparing documents for recording. </li><li>Compliance and regulations: Adhering to relevant real estate laws, lender requirements, and industry standards. </li><li>Problem-solving: Proactively identifying and resolving issues that may arise during the settlement process. </li></ul> <p>Required skills and qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience conducting real estate settlements is often preferred. </li><li>Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a bachelor's degree often preferred. </li><li>Licensing/Certification: Depending on the state or territory, a conveyancer's license or equivalent certification may be required. For example, in Maryland, a Title Producer License is necessary. </li><li>Communication & Relationship-building: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, agents, lenders, and other parties. </li><li>Attention to detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in reviewing documents, preparing statements, and reconciling transactions. </li><li>Organization and time management: The ability to manage a high volume of transactions, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines is crucial in this fast-paced environment. </li><li>Technical skills: Proficiency in relevant software and systems used for settlements processing, including Microsoft Office suite and potentially industry-specific software (e.g., Qualia). </li><li>PA license and Notary required if they have a New Jersey license that is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Settlement Officer- Lead for the team needs to be very experienced and to be able to use the Qualia software to its fullest potential. Assist in creating policies and procedures to ensure smooth and accurate closings/at the settlement table.</p> <p>Most closings are done in the house and have the capabilities to do remote closings, and some go out on site to complete.</p> <p>Perm Placement EOTM 3193</p>
