<p>Job Description:</p> <p>About the Position: This is a 10-month position. This person reports to the leaders of the SEL Team.</p> <p>Required Qualifications: Applicant must have experience working with young children in a school, clinical or childcare setting, and have a firm understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications: The ideal applicant:</p> <ul> <li>has B.A. or other degree/certification in related field </li><li>has experience specifically in early childhood and/or working with students with challenging behaviors </li><li>is well-organized, positive, proactive, and motivated </li><li>has strong interpersonal and communication skills, and works well with diverse students and adults </li><li>Bilingual (Spanish/English). </li></ul> <p>Areas of Responsibility</p> <p>Classroom Support</p> <ul> <li>Responds to classrooms as needed to support students </li><li>Collaborates with staff to plan consistent supports for students </li><li>Communicating and collaborating with the SEL Team throughout the day to meet the needs of students and classrooms throughout the school </li><li>Provides classroom coverage and support as needed </li></ul> <p>Student Support</p> <ul> <li>Provides behavioral intervention and support for students in class </li><li>Processes with students to facilitate reflection and regulation </li><li>Works with students to build social emotional skills </li><li>Facilitates SEL circles with small groups of students </li><li>Monitors a safe space for students for de-escalation, reflection, and work </li><li>Communicates with families about successes and challenges at school </li></ul> <p>Other</p> <ul> <li>Maintains record and documentation of work with students and families </li><li>Learns about and practicing Anti-Bias Anti-Racist practices in a Montessori setting </li><li>Engages with coaching by setting clear goals and receiving feedback </li><li>Participates in weekly professional learning with school team </li></ul>
