<p>Why do we need you ?</p> <p>Prototype Machinist, 4/10 SCHEDULED MONDAY-THURSDAY 2nd SHIFT 4:30PM-3:00AM, $30.00-$40.00 PER HOUR plus $1.00 shift differential. DOE.</p> <p>The Prototype Machinist is a high pressure machinist role as the product must be produced keeping safety as number 1 and producing a quality product within a 24-72 hour time window depending on the product.</p> <p>Perform all processes required to manufacture prototype products per delivery schedule in accordance with engineering drawing and quality specifications. Processes to include set up and operate CNC lathes and mills, set up and operate equipment to fabricate spring energizers, product assembly, and production testing when required. Dimensional and visual inspection of product using various measuring equipment and tools, which include calipers, micrometers, pi tapes, comparator, smart scope, CMM, profilometer, or any other measuring tool that's required. When issues arise that impact prototype quality and/or routed steps, identify root cause and recommend solution to programming or process engineering. Solution may include program editing, cutting tool or fixture modification. When not manufacturing prototype products time will be spent machining normal production orders as directed by the shift supervisor. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to all safety policies and procedures and implementing/sustaining 5s principles.</p> <p>Is this job for you ?</p> <p>High School Diploma or GED preferred.</p> <p>Minimum 1 year experience in Manufacturing Environment operating inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, CMM, hight gages and comparators is required.</p> <p>3-5 years operating CNC lath and mill programming, set up and operational experience is required.</p> <p>Write/edit programs for, set up and operate multiple types of CNC lathes and mills is required.</p> <p>Geometry and algebra knowledge is required.</p> <p>Ability to use measurement tools, read blue prints and inspection practices to determine Product dimensions for accuracy.</p> <p>CMM and Smart Scope experience a plus and preferred.</p> <p>Makes quality parts that meet customer specifications in a fast paced work environment.</p> <p>Manage time effectively and adhere to schedules in order to meet customer demands without compromising product quality.</p> <p>Read blueprint drawings and work orders to understand and meet customer specifications.</p> <p>Accepts or rejects parts and records inspection results.</p> <p>A little more about us</p> <p>If you want to reshape the world and discover your greatest potential, Saint-Gobain provides one-of-a-kind opportunities for innovative problem solvers. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the local pay range for this position, which is $30.00 to $40.00 per hour, plus $1.00 shift differential, depending on experience. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/a quarterly bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 7.5% of the hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs./week * 52wks)) for this position is $62,400to $91,520.
