As a Staff Software Engineer, you will contribute to the evolution of a mission-critical MRI software platform built on a modern, microservices-based architecture that supports the next generation of intelligent, connected MR workflows.</p> <p>This role supports SIGNA One, our AI-driven workflow platform designed to simplify MRI from planning and setup through scanning and beyond. SIGNA One delivers fast scans, effortless setup, and high clinical confidence through intelligent automation and a patient-first experience.</p> <p>In this role, you will focus on designing, implementing, and improving software solutions across the stack. You will own defined components or feature areas, write production-ready code, and contribute to design discussions and code reviews. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that meet both product and regulatory requirements.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Define the scope of work, provide development estimates, and support estimates with clear technical rationale</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in and contribute to technical discussions and designs, effectively presenting ideas through whiteboarding and documentation</p> </li><li> <p>Make informed technology decisions through due diligence and impact analysis</p> </li><li> <p>Develop deep expertise in assigned components while understanding the overall product architecture and module interdependencies</p> </li><li> <p>Design and define interfaces and information exchange between modules</p> </li><li> <p>Advocate for scalable designs and improved quality through effective testing strategies</p> </li><li> <p>Drive design reviews and apply appropriate technologies to software designs</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluate and optimize application performance through sound design and coding practices</p> </li><li> <p>Provide technical leadership by defining, developing, and evolving software in an Agile development environment</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements and vision</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Science, or another STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math), or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 6 years of professional software development experience</p> </li><li> <p>Frontend development experience using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS</p> </li><li> <p>Experience developing software on Windows and Unix/Linux-based systems</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency with Java/JEE, Spring Boot/Spring, and Swagger/OpenAPI</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with development and CI/CD tools including BDD/Cucumber, Git, Artifactory, Gradle/Maven, Docker, and Jenkins</p> </li></ul> <p>Desired Characteristics</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strong knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design, software design patterns, and Java coding principles</p> </li><li> <p>Hands-on experience developing web services (REST, SOAP, WSDL)</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working with microservices-based architectures</p> </li><li> <p>Experience contributing to Scrum teams in an Agile environment</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in the medical device field or other highly regulated development environments where quality is critical</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates strong problem-solving and business acumen, with the ability to translate technical concepts into solutions that address customer and business needs</p> </li><li> <p>Brings clarity in ambiguous situations, influences outcomes through collaboration, and proactively removes obstacles to drive successful delivery</p> </li></ul> <p>#LI-VS1</p> <p>We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>GE HealthCare offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
