<p>Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description</p> <p>The medical assistant will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The role involves supporting clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating the patient population. Additionally, the medical assistant is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide support in clinical and administrative functions under clinician supervision. </li><li>Assist in assessing and maintaining chronic disease management. </li><li>Examine and treat patient population as part of the care team. </li><li>Perform laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Phlebotomy experience required. </li><li>Must be able to take vitals, with a preference for manual vitals. </li><li>Active BLS certification required. </li><li>Active driver's license required. </li><li>Knowledge of basic medical terminology. </li><li>Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements. </li><li>Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices. </li><li>Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. </li><li>Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma required. </li><li>Two years' experience within a clinic or back-office healthcare setting. </li><li>MA diploma or Certified MA (CMA) or three years' MA experience. </li><li>Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. </li><li>Experience with TriMed EMR preferred. </li><li>Flexibility to adjust to changing work environments. </li><li>Ability to float from one location to another as patient queue demands. </li><li>Independent, responsible, and organized. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The position is 100% onsite in a pediatric primary care clinic, working Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm with rotating Saturdays from 7:45am to 12pm. Permanent opportunity with training available for manual vitals. If required to float outside of core locations, a $20 gas card is provided, and $0.67/mile is compensated when traveling between clinics not listed.</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Permanent position based out of Miami, FL.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $37035.18 - $52304.07/yr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
