Please log into Workday and use the Career Tile to find and apply to jobs from our internal career sites.</p> <p>The Director of Intramural Activities will oversee the planning, development, and execution of a dynamic and inclusive intramural program that enriches the student experience. This individual will foster a sense of community, promote physical well-being, and provide diverse opportunities for recreation and competition in alignment with the mission of the University of the Cumberlands.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive intramural sports and recreational program that meets the needs and interests of a diverse student body. </li><li>Serve as the primary liaison between the university, students, faculty, and external organizations to promote and expand intramural programs. </li><li>Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate student staff and officials for all intramural activities. </li><li>Oversee fiscal planning and management for intramural programs, including budgeting, purchasing, and financial oversight to ensure cost-effectiveness and sustainability. </li><li>Collaborate with university departments, such as student services, athletics, and academic programs, to enhance student engagement through intramural activities. </li><li>Develop schedules, facilities use plans, and logistics for intramural sports, tournaments, and special events. </li><li>Establish and enforce policies, rules, and safety standards for intramural programs and events to ensure a positive and safe environment for all participants. </li><li>Maintain records and analyze participation data to evaluate program effectiveness and guide future programming decisions. </li><li>Create marketing strategies and materials to promote intramural programs through campus media, social media platforms, and other outreach efforts. </li><li>Serve as an advocate for student well-being by incorporating inclusive and accessible opportunities for recreation and healthy competition. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Administration, Physical Education, or a related field is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of 5 years of experience in intramural or recreational program management is preferred. </li><li>Proven experience in staff supervision, program development, and fiscal management. </li></ul> <p>Special Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Strong organizational and leadership skills. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusivity and accessibility in recreational programs. </li><li>Knowledge of industry standards, trends, and best practices in intramural and recreational programming. </li><li>CPR, First Aid, and other relevant certifications (preferred or required). </li></ul> <p>Cumberlands is different by design.
