<p>General Description:</p> <p>The Project Manager / Estimator's primary responsibilities includes estimating and managing</p> <p>construction projects. Additional responsibilities include client interface and ensuring client</p> <p>satisfaction; developing detailed means and methods estimates; outsourcing, analyzing and</p> <p>competitively purchasing subcontractor services and material purchases; reviewing proposed</p> <p>designs for constructability, value-engineering, contract negotiations; creating, updating and</p> <p>enforcing project schedules; problem solving; coordinating project meetings; keeping project</p> <p>records and documents; managing project cost; managing change orders, acquiring building</p> <p>permits, managing submittals and other necessary project documents and physically inspecting</p> <p>projects to monitor progress and compliance with project standards.</p> <p>To be successful in this position the candidate should have knowledge and experience</p> <p>estimating industrial civil construction.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Meet with Client / Customer on a regular basis to discuss status of projects, determine </li></ul> <p>client satisfaction and take immediate action to respond to problems and concerns.</p> <ul> <li>Visit project work sites, clarify scope of work, and prepare cost estimates and proposals. </li><li>Evaluate projects for constructability and value-engineer cost savings. </li><li>Develop and implement strategies to self-perform and to outsource the various aspects </li></ul> <p>of a project to achieve the projects objectives of price, schedule and quality.</p> <ul> <li>Negotiate contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders to assure that all project goals </li></ul> <p>are being addressed.</p> <ul> <li>Identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate their solutions. </li><li>Conduct and document project progress meetings. </li><li>Determine and implement the appropriate level of project control (i.e.: submittal logs, </li></ul> <p>change order logs, etc.)</p> <ul> <li>Manage project costs to assure that budgets are maintained. </li><li>Document and manage changes in the work. </li><li>Document substantial completion; manage the project closeout process to assure timely </li></ul> <p>completion</p> <ul> <li>Participate in weekly staff meetings. </li><li>Duties may include assistance to Project Superintendent </li></ul> <p>Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Collaboration Skills </li><li>Communication Proficiency </li><li>Organizational and Problem-Solving Skills </li><li>Time management - ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines </li><li>Interpretation of Construction Drawings </li><li>Ethical Conduct </li><li>Computer Literate </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>Office Environment - Employee is regularly required to sit; use of hands to grip, handle, or feel;</p> <p>reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and</p> <p>walk and must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 25 lbs. This position may also require</p> <p>field visits to Construction Site, predominately outdoors. Exposure to extreme hot or cold</p> <p>outside temperatures is possible.</p> <p>Position Type/Expected Work Hours:</p> <p>This is a full-time, hourly position. Days and hours of work vary from each jobsite. Occasional</p> <p>evening/weekend work or travel may be required as job duties demand. The environment for</p> <p>this job varies - 90% of the job will be in a typical, professional office environment. 10% of the</p> <p>role consists of visiting jobsites to gain better scope of bid requirements.</p> <p>Required Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>7+ years of field experience and/or Degree in Construction Management/Engineering </li><li>Experience estimating and managing self-performed work activities and subcontracted </li></ul> <p>work.</p> <ul> <li>Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry. </li><li>Understands project cost control and change order management </li><li>Understands software applications associated with managing and controlling work-flow. </li></ul> <p>Industry Related Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must hold a valid TWIC Card </li><li>Must hold a valid OSHA Basic Plus </li><li>Must be able to pass all Safety Council related courses </li><li>Must undergo Pre-Employment Screening (physical, drug & alcohol screen, audiogram, </li></ul> <p>fit test if applicable)</p> <ul> <li>Must hold a valid Driver's License to operate company equipment and/or vehicles </li></ul> <p>The individual who occupies this position must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of</p> <p>substantial harm to the health or safety of the individual or others that cannot be eliminated or</p> <p>reduced by reasonable accommodation</p> <p>Project Manager/Estimator will be responsible to have knowledge of the use of the</p> <p>following tools and equipment:</p> <ul> <li>General Office Supplies • Computer </li><li>Calculator • Drafting Equipment </li><li>Telephone </li><li>Company Vehicle </li></ul>
