We would be honored to have you join the Town of Parker family!</p> <p>Under general supervision, this position performs a variety of routine and moderately complex administrative and clerical tasks in support of the Planning Division. </p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This job description does not constitute an employment agreement and the Town may change these duties at any time.</p> <ul> <li>Assists with all Departmental administrative functions including but not limited to budget preparation and management, intradepartmental communication, digital presence coordination, information/data management, and internal/external coordination of meetings, permits and policy implementation. </li><li>Supervises employees; conducts and oversees hiring, scheduling, employee feedback, performance reviews, staff training and development, discipline/termination, and employee recognition processes for assigned staff. </li><li>Oversees the review and processing of basic land development applications and building permits for compliance with Town codes and ordinances. </li><li>Provides administrative and clerical support to the Planning Commission; responds to requests for information; administers the recruitment and onboarding program for the Commission. </li><li>Provides oversight and guidance in the areas of zoning requirements, sign permits, and code enforcement; ensures code compliance with applicable policies, regulations and standards. </li><li>Researches and responds to complex issues in land use, zoning, and sign code interpretations. </li><li>Produces a variety of written work products including letters, memorandums, summaries, presentations, and reports; edits memos; ensures all attachments are included in the proper order and submission for approval. </li><li>Responds to open records requests, public inquiries, and internal requests for information; provides planning related information to property owners, architects, developers, realtors, appraisers, and the public. </li><li>Maintains files and records; performs routine clerical and administrative functions such as data entry, filing, and record searches. </li><li>Maintains confidentiality of information consistent with applicable Town policy, and applicable state and federal regulations. </li><li>Researches special projects in conjunction with land development applications, special projects, and public requests. </li><li>Maintains the digital presence of the department including the Town website, Intranet, social media, and other platforms. </li><li>Assists in managing the budget, processes invoices for purchases. </li><li>Attends technical and professional development workshops and conferences as assigned and coordinates the Department's training schedule. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.</p> <p>Requires a high school diploma or GED supplemented by four (4) years of progressively responsible professional or para-professional administrative experience in a municipal or similar environment. </p> <p>Familiarity with community development, planning, and/or development services is preferred. </p> <p>Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated; safe driving record and a minimum of two (2) years of driving history. </p> <p>Employment Standards</p> <p>The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of administrative tasks and operations. </li><li>Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. </li><li>Knowledge of local government functions and operations. </li><li>Skill in the training and supervision of personnel. </li><li>Skill in the use of computers, modern office equipment, and various software programs. </li><li>Skill in the training and supervision of personnel. </li><li>Skill in verbal and written communication. </li><li>Ability to coordinate and manage projects and programs. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion. </li><li>Ability to develop effective working relationships. </li><li>Ability to review, interpret, and analyze maps and graphs. </li><li>Ability to multi-task under minimal direction with limited supervision. </li><li>Ability to meet deadlines. </li><li>Ability to provide efficient and positive customer service. </li><li>Ability to pass a pre-employment background check. </li></ul> <p>Hiring Range: $32.87-$40.27/hr.</p> <p>Full Salary Range: $32.87-$47.66/hr.</p> <p>Position Closes: 8/5/2025</p> <p>First Interviews: Week of 8/11/2025</p> <p>Second Interviews/Decision: On or about Week of 8/18/2025</p> <p>Tentative Start: 9/1 or 9/15</p> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>The working conditions described below are representative of those an employee generally encounters while performing the essential duties of this job. Employee must communicate clearly and effectively; must understand and be understood. </p> <p>Environment</p> <p>Work is frequently performed in a climate-controlled office environment, but employees holding this position may be exposed to extreme cold or heat and humidity while completing inspections outdoors.
