<p>Job Title: Project Engineer - LandfillJob Description</p> <p>We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles within solid waste assignment areas and related fields. The role involves preparing engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications while working independently on complex engineering or scientific problems. The candidate will plan and coordinate work while performing field tasks such as surveys, data gathering, CQA liner installations, and inspections, as well as office-based tasks including CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, and creating site plans and facility diagrams. Business development activities such as proposal preparation, client meetings, and attending industry conferences and trade shows are also part of the role.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Apply intensive and diversified engineering and scientific principles in solid waste management. </li><li>Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications. </li><li>Work independently on complex engineering or scientific problems, planning and coordinating work. </li><li>Conduct fieldwork including surveys, data gathering, CQA liner installations, and inspections in varied terrains and weather conditions. </li><li>Perform office-based tasks such as CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, and creating site plans and facility diagrams. </li><li>Engage in business development activities, including proposal preparation, client meetings, and attending industry conferences and trade shows. </li><li>Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and seek supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Project management and construction management expertise. </li><li>Design and project engineering skills specific to landfill and civil engineering. </li><li>Tennessee P.E (preferably civil) registration required or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering. </li><li>Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in solid waste industry consulting, including landfill gas management, air compliance, landfill design, and permitting. </li><li>Proficiency with MS Office and environmental consulting software. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D design software is a plus. </li><li>Valid driver's license with a good driving record. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This role requires a combination of on-site fieldwork and office-based tasks. Fieldwork involves working in varied terrains and weather conditions, while office work includes drafting, calculations, and report writing. The position requires attending industry-related conferences and trade shows, necessitating a professional attire.</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $57.69/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
