<p>Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 12 states with over 3,000 employees. RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States.</p> <p>We have 86 quarries and 56 asphalt plants across Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.</p> <p>Rogers Group is currently seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Estimator to join our well-established and growing Upper Cumberland operations, based in Cookeville, TN. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of roadway construction and/or hot-mix asphalt paving and resurfacing. As an Estimator, the primary responsibility will be the development and submission of bids for both private and public projects and support operational growth. This position requires a self-starter with a strong work ethic, a demonstrated commitment to safety, and a focus on maintaining high standards of quality.</p> <p>Essential Functions and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Actively engage in the company's safety program, upholding core values and policies, and contributing to the achievement of the strategic plan. </li><li>Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of asphalt paving and related roadway construction activities. </li><li>Conduct quantity take-offs, pricing, scoping, and bidding for DOT, commercial, and municipal projects. </li><li>Review project drawings, plans, specifications, and contract documents, and attend pre-bid meetings to thoroughly understand project scope and requirements for accurate bid preparation. </li><li>Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes, historical production data, and cost information to prepare bid packages, estimates, and construction subcontracts. </li><li>Collaborate with Owners, Engineers, Architects, Customers, and internal teams to develop bid packages and address project-related issues. </li><li>Present estimates and participate in bid reviews with the Estimating Manager and/or senior management to ensure the accuracy and completeness of submissions. </li><li>Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Owners, General Contractors, Customers, and Subcontractors. </li><li>Assist with pre-construction project setup, budget preparation, preparation of submittals and related project deliverables, and effectively communicate project schedules and timelines to subcontractors and suppliers. </li><li>Assist with cost and time impact analysis, as well as change order preparation and submission. </li><li>Monitor project progress, ensuring accurate tracking for invoicing and billing purposes. </li><li>Monitor and follow-up to ensure the successful completion and final close-out of projects. </li><li>Participate in weekly and month-end job cost reviews and assist with Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC) processes. </li><li>Support the compilation of annual reports and contribute to the development of annual business plans. </li><li>Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as required to meet deadlines or as directed by management. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications (Education/Experience) and Required Skills:</p> <ul> <li>A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. </li><li>A minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in asphalt paving and/or roadway construction (preferred). </li><li>Proven experience in estimating and/or managing heavy-civil construction projects for DOT, municipal, industrial, or commercial sectors (preferred). </li><li>Proficiency in, or the ability to quickly become proficient with, standard estimating, scheduling, and communication tools and software, including Microsoft Office Suite, HCSS HeavyBid and HeavyJob, AGTEK, Bluebeam, Oman BidTabs, Primavera, and others. </li><li>In-depth knowledge of job costing and estimating techniques and practices. </li><li>Experience in developing and maintaining CPM (Critical Path Method) construction schedules (preferred). </li><li>Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills. </li><li>Excellent negotiation and customer service skills. </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Demonstrates professionalism, tact, and courtesy when interacting with management, team members, vendors, and both internal and external customers. </li><li>Exceptional time management and delegation skills, with the ability to meet tight bid deadlines. </li></ul> <p>Rogers Group provides extensive benefits, strong compensation, and a safe, drug-free working environment.</p> <p>As a Rogers Group employee, you will have access to our competitive company perks, including:</p> <ul> <li>Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance plus Health Savings Account with annual company contribution. </li><li>Company provided Group Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance. </li><li>Retirement 401(k) with company contribution and match at one year of service. </li><li>Company provided Short- and Long-Term Disability. </li><li>Paid Holiday's including Christmas shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day. </li><li>Paid vacation available after 180-day probationary period and accrued based on years of service. </li><li>Annual performance-based merit increases. </li><li>Career growth/advancement opportunities. </li></ul> <p>RGI EEO Statement</p> <p>It is the policy of Rogers Group, Inc. to recruit, hire, and promote individuals based on demonstrated merit and qualifications.
