<p>The Department of Radiology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/per diem TH Medical Radiographer I / CT-MRI Technician. The successful candidate will:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate the ability to perform all MRI, CT or IR procedures with established protocols, with minimal supervision. </li><li>Be responsible for patient care while performing imaging, to include accuracy of patient identification/correct procedure/correct laterality. </li><li>Be able to deal with emergent situations involving patient care issues. </li><li>Coordinate patient schedules to ensure that patient procedures are completed promptly. </li><li>Have the ability to produce high quality images efficiently regardless of volume. Performs exams in accordance with established protocols. </li><li>Maintain conditions in MRI, CT or IR area which foster an environment focused on patient safety. </li><li>Have prior experience with computerized patient information systems, including Radiology Information Systems and PACS. </li><li>Complete all exams immediately in RIS and verify on PACS. </li><li>Burn CD's and DVD's when necessary. </li><li>Have scheduling flexibility as hours may change on as needed basis according to departmental operating needs. </li><li>Adhere to all SUNY Downstate Medical Center and department policies and procedures, to include principle of behavior. </li><li>Maintain principle of ALARA. </li><li>Maintain supplies and check for expired items on a monthly basis. </li><li>Maintain all patient related logs (i.e. pt. incidents/CTDI vol./Infiltrates/etc.). </li><li>Perform daily/weekly/monthly QA on MRI, CT or IR equipment and document such. </li><li>Inform supervisor when equipment is offline including contacting service and recording the service ticket number. </li><li>Attend all department sponsored In-services relative to MRI, CT, IR and departmental issues. </li><li>Maintain a courteous and pleasant disposition with patients. </li><li>Adhere to time and attendance policies. </li><li>Perform other duties and responsibilities as required. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>New York Radiologist State Licensure. </li><li>ARRT registration certification. </li><li>Current BCLS certification. </li><li>Maintained all required CE's for continued certification. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>ARRT certified in MRI, CT, or IR. </li><li>2+ years of experience in all diagnostic x-ray procedures. </li><li>DOH injection certification to perform MRI and CT exams. </li><li>Prior related hospital experience </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule:</p> <p>Variable Days; Variable Hours (Hourly/Per Diem)</p> <p>Salary Grade/Rank:</p> <p>SL-3</p> <p>Salary Range:</p> <p>Commensurate with experience and qualifications</p> <p>Executive Order:</p> <p>Pursuant to Executive Order 161, no State entity, as defined by the Executive Order, is permitted to ask, or mandate, in any form, that an applicant for employment provide his or her current compensation, or any prior compensation history, until such time as the applicant is extended a conditional offer of employment with compensation.
