You can also explore our thriving downtown district, filled with shops, restaurants, and entertainment options, or take a stroll along the Cedar River, which runs through the heart of the city. Cedar Rapids - Why you should live here! </p> <p>About this Opportunity </p> <p>Performs a variety of clerical functions for employees of and visitors to the Parks and Recreation Department as well as building supervisor duties for the Northwest Recreation Center.</p> <p>The City of Cedar Rapids does not offer sponsorship for employment authorization.Job Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Greet everyone who comes in the front door and check in patrons for activities and handle equipment rentals; </li><li>Register patrons for Parks & Recreation programs and events as well as reservations and rental space; </li><li>Answers telephone; </li><li>Performs clerical duties such as filing, copying, and collating; </li><li>Keep running logs for building usage; </li><li>Prepares, maintains, and submits reports as required; </li><li>Prepare deposits from daily receipt fees; </li><li>Adheres to and enforces facility policies, rules and regulations and educates patrons about them; </li><li>Assists in the tear down and set up of rooms as needed as well as general upkeep and cleanliness of facility. This includes lifting 5-10lbs, up to 25lbs occasionally; </li><li>Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies, procedures and safety practices; </li><li>Attends work regularly at the designated place and time; </li><li>Supports continuous process improvement initiatives; </li><li>Performs related work as required. </li></ul> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Requires working and supervisory experience with events and/or small party rentals of a facility or </li><li>Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule</p> <ul> <li>Varied hours of Monday - Friday 5pm - 9pm, Saturday 1pm - 4pm, Sunday 1pm - 3:30pm, an average of 4-15 hours per week </li></ul>
