<p>Job Title WCC Community Resource Development Specialist Job Description</p> <p>The Community Resource Specialist supports the mission of Wilkes Community College by assisting with the daily operations of the Institutional Advancement Office and the Wilkes Community College Foundation. This position provides administrative, donor relations, event coordination, and data management support to ensure effective fundraising initiatives, accurate record keeping, and meaningful engagement with donors, volunteers, and community partners.</p> <p>This is a full-time, twelve-month position in the Institutional Advancement Office and WCC Foundation, reporting to the VP of Institutional Advancement/Executive Director of the WCC Foundation.</p> <p>Full Time or Part Time Full Time Essential Duties Summary</p> <p>Core duties will include the following:</p> <p>Scholarship Stewardship</p> <ul> <li>Manage the Award Spring Stewardship Program for endowed and general scholarship donor recognition and reporting. </li><li>Develop accurate and functional scholarship agreements when establishing endowed or general scholarships with donors. </li><li>Maintain effective communication with donors regarding scholarship goals and student successes. </li><li>Work with the Public Information Officer and Scholarship Coordinator on developing press releases for scholarship donor recognition and celebration. </li></ul> <p>Fundraising Events and Campaigns</p> <p>WCC Annual Drive</p> <ul> <li>Manage the WCC Foundation's annual fund drive through theme development and implementation. </li><li>Lead college team leaders to raise funds from all departments across the college, board of directors, trustees, and the community campaign. </li><li>Manage donor records and reports in Bloomerang. </li><li>Develop collateral and communication materials such as community letters, thank you notes, and emails to faculty and staff. </li></ul> <p>Scholarship Gala</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with the Foundation's special events Chair and committee to plan and budget the Scholarship Gala. </li><li>Manage logistics for the Scholarship Gala through the Bloomerang database, including guest lists, seating charts, and online giving. </li><li>Provide and manage event budget. </li><li>Work closely with the WCC Hospitality Director to coordinate setup, day of event execution, and use of the Walker Center. </li><li>Provide marketing and graphic designer themes for all promotional materials. </li><li>Work with the Sponsorship Specialist to secure sponsorships for the event. </li><li>Conduct all correspondence with board members to sell tickets and other key participants in the event. </li><li>Create invoices and thank you notes. </li><li>Create a post-event survey to present to the Foundation's special events committee </li></ul> <p>MerleFest</p> <ul> <li>MerleFest duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>WAW Scholarship Golf Tournament</p> <ul> <li>Manage logistics and day of event execution for annual golf tournament, including registration, setup, team player database, working with Marketing and print companies for signage, player and volunteer apparel, awards, and prizes. </li><li>Work with the Sponsorship Specialist for budgeting and sponsorship logistics. </li><li>Responsible for VIP dinner invitations, setup, securing guest speakers, and managing VIP guests. </li><li>Works with the Foundation golf committee to plan and budget for the tournament. </li></ul> <p>Additional Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with the Vice President of Institutional Advancement on campaign initiatives. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of a bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related area. </li><li>Applicant must have excellent human relations skills and be able to work with a variety of individuals (donors, students, administration, and the public). </li><li>Good analytical skills, attention to detail, the ability to communicate effectively, good organizational skills, and the ability to work with deadlines are essential. </li><li>Advanced computer skills required, including Microsoft Office software (Excel and Word), budget, and database management. </li><li>Demonstrate a patient and caring personality to build relationships with donors. </li><li>Some weekends, evenings, and occasional overnight travel are part of the work schedule for this position. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Fundraising experience is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>The position requires a strategic and analytical perspective in addition to a broad knowledge of the operations of the College. Requires ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations. Requires strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple institutional priorities. Must be able to work under pressure and handle all confidential matters with discretion. Travel, evening, and weekend work will be required.</p> <p>Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills are important.</p> <p>Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.</p> <p>Essential functions of this position require lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate, reasoning, critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytic skills.</p> <p>Medium work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting for long periods for meetings.</p> <p>Salary Grade Salary Salary Range: $40,000 to $50,000 based on education and experience in accordance with the college salary plan.</p> <p>Posting Detail Information</p> <p>Posting Number 10504P Open Date Close Date 03/18/2026 Open Until Filled No Desired Start Date Review Start Date 03/19/2026 Special Instructions to Applicants</p> <p>Applicants must complete the Wilkes Community College online application process which includes a cover letter, a resume, four professional references, and unofficial college transcripts (if hired, official college transcripts will be required).
