<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>This is a re-advertisement. Previous applicants are still being considered for this position</p> <p>and do not need to re-apply</p> <p>Performs inspection duties and ensures contractor follows contract requirements and standard specifications. Assists project managers in making routine daily decisions concerning construction practices on assigned construction projects. Coordinates work between Contractor and the Department to ensure smooth progress of work. Assists with monitoring/coordinating contract maintenance projects, in accordance with the SCDOT standards and specifications. Assists with project closeout duties required by contract requirements and/or supervisor. Conducts initial site inspections to identify potential conflicts and monitors progress of any utility relocations, acts as a liaison for utilities and contractors. Performs other related duties as assigned.</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management; or an approved acceptable equivalence.</p> <p>Physical Requirement: The physical demands for the essential functions of this position involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. This position may require travel. This position may require bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, and kneeling. This position required driving and walking for extended periods, treading rough and uneven terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies. This position may be exposed to outside environment in all weather conditions and noise.</p> <p>A motor vehicle operator's license is required.</p> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Applications accepted on-line at careers.sc.gov.
