<p>Residential SUD Counselors are responsible for assessing client needs and strengths in support of health and substance abuse recovery through individual and group counseling, delivering curricula in accordance with program specific requirements. Residential Care Coordinators assist clients in navigating systems of care while providing a supportive treatment environment.</p> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Individual Treatment Responsibilities: facilitates individual counseling sessions with each caseload client. Provides learning experience opportunities and offers clinical support to assist clients in meeting their treatment goals. Proactively links clients to both internal and external resources based on their treatment needs and follows up on the progress/status.</p> <p>Treatment Setting Responsibilities: facilitates group counseling sessions and community meetings and teaches classes on various treatment-related topics. Performs crisis intervention and communicates with treatment team as unforeseen situations arise. Documents client updates and incidents in the facility daily log system. Performs periodic program safety checks to ensure and maintain the safety and security of the facility. As needed, accompanies clients to offsite appointments related to their treatment. Attends required trainings and meetings. Maintains a warm, welcoming environment to encourage clients to attend required groups, classes, and individual sessions. May work weekends and holidays.</p> <p>Documentation Responsibilities: collaborates with each caseload client and other available internal and external resources to develop/maintain treatment plans, transition plans, progress notes and appropriate updates in support of the health and recovery needs of the client. Properly documents all individual and group counseling sessions and completes the discharge paperwork/process and required agency assessments in timely manner. Also, maintains accurate records by data entering documentation into various electronic systems for all caseload clients in accordance with guidelines established by HealthRIGHT-360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements. Maintains weekly logs of client contacts and help motivate clients to fulfill their weekly obligations.</p> <p>And other duties as assigned.</p> <p>EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Education</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Certification or registration with Drug and Alcohol Certification recognized by DHCS </li><li>High School diploma or equivalent </li><li>First Aid Certified within 30 days of employment </li><li>CPR Certified within 30 days of employment </li><li>A valid California driver's license </li></ul> <p>Desired:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in related field </li><li>Bilingual </li></ul> <p>Background Clearance</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>CDCR Clearance </li></ul> <p>Knowledge</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population </li><li>Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications </li><li>Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self sufficiency </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data </li><li>Professionalism, punctuality, flexibility, and reliability are imperative </li><li>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills </li><li>Integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner </li><li>Action oriented. Strong problem-solving skills </li><li>Excellent organization skills and ability to multitask and juggle multiple priorities. </li><li>Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of interdisciplinary team and independently assume responsibility </li></ul> <p>Desired:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of co-occurring disorders and trauma informed treatment </li><li>Knowledge of Clinical documentation (treatment plans, progress notes etc.) </li><li>Experience working with criminal justice population </li><li>Bilingual </li></ul>
