Expected hourly rate of $58.49. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION This position will be within the Operations Team and operates, monitors, and maintains all equipment necessary to generate electricity. The incumbent in this position must be able to communicate across all levels of the organization. The Control Room Operator must have previously passed the level I, level II, and level III Production Technician testing requirements plus pass the Control Room Operator qualifications testing before moving into this role. The Control Room Operator must have knowledge and able to operate all equipment in the power plant. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Operates, monitors and maintains generators, pumps, industrial wastewater treatment plants, boilers, motors, combustion turbines and associated auxiliary equipment. Performs all work during an assigned shift in a safe, continuous and efficient manner while maintaining environmental and housekeeping standards within federal, state and local guidelines. Ensure that the authority to direct certain duties of others is handled in a professional manner and that such duties are carried out within applicable procedures and practices and that they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Operates various repair/test equipment. Communicate in all directions in an efficient manner: with peers, contractors, and with management when and as called upon to do so. This includes ensuring peers and management are aware of the information they need to make decisions in support of strategies, goals, and individual duties. Participate in the development of other employees such that their skill sets on the job are increased. Coach new and existing employees in processes, procedures and practices as assigned. Adheres to the conduct of operations and established operations standards and practices. Available to work in Outage Management Group as needed to perform work week scheduling, Available for rotating shift work. Perform any other duties as assigned in accordance with Article 5.12 of the CBA. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associates Degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, or related field OR HS Diploma with minimum of 18 months of trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology Previously passed the level I, II, and III Production Technician testing requirements and successful passing of the Control Room Operator testing requirements and meeting the time in job requirements Available for overtime as required in accordance with Article 5.8 of the CBA Good oral and written communication skills Basic computer skills Understanding of power plant prints Valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle Ability to successfully complete the training requirements for the position including previously passing the POSS test Ability to work in a power plant environment that includes climbing and walking long distances Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds</p>
