To learn more about our mission and programs, visit www.littleflowerny.org.</p> <p>The Professional Development & Training Coordinator is responsible for supporting workforce development across the RTC by overseeing recruitment strategies, candidate selection, training, onboarding, and staff development initiatives. This role ensures all staff are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and competencies required to deliver trauma-informed, youth-centered care in alignment with Little Flower policy, the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) standards, and other relevant laws and policies. The coordinator works collaboratively with agency leaders and subject matter experts to deliver engaging learning experiences and promote continuous professional growth.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) Department on best practices to recruit and retain a skilled and diverse workforce. </li><li>Collaborate with agency colleagues and community partners within culturally diverse communities to recruit individuals reflective of the children, youth and families we serve. </li><li>Collaborate with HR to select candidates that demonstrate the knowledge, characteristics and skills required to successfully perform job tasks and achieve a stable workforce. </li><li>Design and deliver onboarding and orientation for all newly hired RTC staff, ensuring they have the requisite resources, support, and knowledge of agency culture and climate to successfully perform job tasks. </li><li>Track and maintain staff training compliance with all OCFS and internal agency standards. </li><li>Collaborate with outside agencies to identify potential partnerships for support and training offerings. </li><li>Advertise and communicate training offerings to RTC staff with an emphasis on maintaining compliance for mandatory trainings. </li><li>Network with local high schools, colleges, and other community partners to provide information and generate excitement about career opportunities at Little Flower. </li><li>Participate in outreach events, community fairs and information tables to bolster recruitment. Develop and facilitate training on trauma-informed care, youth and family engagement, crisis intervention, documentation, and agency-specific protocols. Serve as the point person for Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training, including scheduling, recertification, and data tracking; serve as TCI trainer and coordinate external facilitators. </li><li>Partner with Quality Assurance (QA), HR, and program leadership to identify training needs, implement improvement strategies, and ensure continuous quality improvement (CQI). Maintain a centralized training calendar and system for documenting attendance, certification, and evaluations. </li><li>Lead staff focus groups to identify areas of training and strengthen staff support needs. </li><li>Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for staff at all levels of the RTC. Support leadership development initiatives and succession planning through targeted learning and coaching. Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and accountability consistent with trauma-informed care principles. </li><li>Continuously assess best practices for attracting, developing and retaining a skilled and stable workforce. </li><li>Create stay interviews to better understand agency culture and climate and what makes strong employees remain committed to the agency. </li><li>Identify current and anticipated workforce needs using data-driven strategies to track progress and evaluate impact of recruitment and retention strategies. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in education, human services, organizational development, or related field required. </li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in training, facilitation, or workforce development, preferably in a child welfare or residential care setting. </li><li>Certified TCI trainer preferred or will have ability to become certified upon hire. </li><li>Experience in adult learning, coaching, and trauma-informed systems change. </li><li>Excellent communication, organization, and instructional design skills. </li></ul> <p>Core Competencies:</p> <p>Adult learning and facilitation, staff development and coaching, trauma-informed systems training, documentation and compliance, program evaluation and quality improvement, interdepartmental collaboration and communication, deep knowledge in child welfare workforce recruitment and retention best practices</p> <p>Why Join Little Flower?</p> <ul> <li>Join a mission-driven organization with nearly a century of service. </li><li>Be part of a collaborative and supportive leadership team. </li><li>Access to a comprehensive benefits package and professional development opportunities. </li><li>Help shape meaningful services that enhance lives and strengthen communities. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>On-site position with flexibility to deliver training across shifts and during evening or weekend hours as needed. </li><li>Some travel between agency sites may be required. </li></ul> <p>EEO Statement:</p> <p>Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
