<p>Overview</p> <p>Sign-on/Retention incentives: up to $2,500*</p> <p>The Point of Care department performs a variety of diagnostic laboratory tests in the Clinical Laboratory to obtain data for diagnosing and treating disease. They use technical knowledge and skills to oversee laboratory functions, including quality control, maintenance, training, and other required tasks.</p> <p>This Laboratory Assistant position will support the Point of Care Laboratory team in maintaining compliance, testing, and training programs at DHMC. This position will assist in performing sample preparation, organization, data collection, sample storage, and various research projects/assay validations.</p> <p>This is a 40-hour-per-week day shift position.</p> <p>We are offering a $2500 sign-on/retention bonus for this position. *The bonus is available for external hires only, and certain conditions apply.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Supports the point of care team in day-to-day functions Prints and scans documents into the Laboratory information system Maintaining laboratory supplies and reagents Performs clerical audits Answer phone calls and know how to appropriately escalate Performs routine maintenance on laboratory equipment as needed Routinely utilizes Excel, Microsoft Word, SharePoint, and Smartsheet Conducts basic troubleshooting and orders special handles Perform other duties as required or assigned</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Strong Computer skill sets </li><li>Able to complete assignment with minimal direction and adapt to rapidly changing workflows </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, technicians, management, and subject matter experts. </li><li>High school graduate, college classes preferred </li><li>1-2 years Lab or related experience </li></ul> <p>Required Licensure/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>None </li></ul>
