<p>TYPE OF POSITION: Full time (1.0); 2025-2026 school year; salary commensurate with experience and education as set forth in the agreement between the School Committee of the Town of Seekonk and Local 1701, State Council 93, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO</p> <p>LOCATION: George R. Martin Elementary School</p> <p>PAY RANGE: $19.46 to $25.14, depending on education and experience</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Principal and/or Immediate Teacher</p> <p>The Instructional Aide assists teachers and/or building principals in the supervision of students in the classroom during instructional periods and throughout the school environment as designated by the principal or teacher.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>To be considered qualified for this position, candidates must minimally have the following:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's or Associate's Degree and/or passing score on Paraprofessional Assessment </li><li>Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and adults. </li><li>Ability to relate well with students, colleagues, parents, and staff. </li></ul> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS which include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Under the supervision of a certified teacher, prepares for classroom activities. </li><li>Works individually or in small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher. </li><li>Assists the teacher in providing specialized support to children that target their individual needs and goals. </li><li>Assists the teacher in non-instructional classroom duties (e.g. lunch, snack, bathroom and other routines). </li><li>Assists the teacher in activities such as, but not limited to, checking notebooks, correcting papers and supervising testing and make-up work. </li><li>Assists the teacher in preparing class displays/bulletin boards and caring for equipment. </li><li>Assists the teacher in duties relating to the supervision of the playground, cafeteria, bus loading, etc. </li><li>Participates in professional development and training programs, when appropriate. </li><li>To complete other tasks designated by the individual supervisor. </li></ul> <p>The Seekonk Public Schools strives to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment in which all students can thrive and succeed in its schools.
