The content of middle-school mathematics provides a rich opportunity for students to view the world critically, applying proportional reasoning to understand where there are inequities built into society. A major goal of the project is to develop students' ability to apply quantitative reasoning to understand the world around them.

Under the guidance of SSU faculty, teacher participants will meet in May-June of 2025, Summer 2025, and again in Fall 2025 to research and plan the lessons, for implementation in the winter/spring of 2026. The grant provides stipends for after-school and summer meetings.
