<p>Title: Middle School Music - Chorus Teacher - .8 FTE</p> <p>Location: Curtis Middle School</p> <p>Reports to: Principal</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Sudbury Public Schools is seeking a qualified Middle School Chorus Teacher. The Chorus Teacher works with grades 6-8, creating a safe and welcoming environment for students to learn and sing music. The Chorus Teacher is responsible for delivering a high quality instructional experience of music through creativity, resourcefulness and sound judgement consistent with the curriculum frameworks.</p> <p>Key Duties & Responsibilities: Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons designed to foster musical development for the following: 6th - 8th Grade Middle School Music</p> <p>Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students; Participate in a block which is used for student connection classes/activities and/or enrichment and support classes/activities Maintain grades for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Chorus students; Communicate with parents and other colleagues regarding students; Facilitate 2-3 concerts per year for each cohort; Plan and assess curriculum and instruction; Mentor students' understanding and adjust instruction, materials, or assessments, when appropriate; Manage classroom environment including communication with classroom teachers as needed; Seek the assistance of district specialists as required regarding the learning disabilities of students; Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement; Differentiate instructions based on student learning needs; Collaborate toward school-wide activities and performances (assemblies, musicals, theatre, etc.); Foster student interest in and understanding of music; Perform other related duties as assigned.</p> <p>Classification: SEA Unit Position</p> <p>Schedule: 183 days (.8 FTE)</p> <p>Salary: Commensurate with education and experience based on the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.</p> <p>Bachelor to M+60 Lanes Steps 1-16 - From Approx: $58,000-$130,000 Based on degree and years of experience</p> <p>Hiring is contingent upon a successful CORI and fingerprinting clearance. All finalists will be required to provide official transcripts.</p> <p>Deadline: Resumes will be reviewed upon receipt and the position will remain open until filled.</p>
