<p>SUMMARY:</p> <p>At National Heritage Academies (NHA), we believe it is our responsibility to ensure that our students graduate not only with a high-quality education but also with strong moral and performance character to guide them. NHA is actively seeking a Team Lead of the Character Education Program, who is passionate about enhancing and supporting a world-class character education program for K-12 students.</p> <p>The Team Lead is responsible for the vision and implementation of NHA's character education program across all NHA schools, including the K-12 curriculum. This role involves improving and maintaining the curriculum, supporting its implementation across all schools, and collaborating with other NHA leaders to integrate character education into daily school routines and instructional practices. Additionally, the Team Lead of Character Education Program serves as a leader and collaborator among various NHA Service Center Teams to provide high quality resources and support to our schools to increase the visibility of our Character Education Program to parents and our school communities.</p> <p>The Team Lead of the Character Education Program will report directly to the Director of Curriculum & Instruction (C&I). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a school administrator or system leader with a strong understanding of how to develop students' moral and performance character. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to make a broad impact by providing quality support to more than 100 NHA schools.</p> <p>COMPANY INFORMATION:</p> <p>National Heritage Academies (NHA) partners with communities to build and operate public charter schools. Join our team.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Leads team/individual by effectively coaching and managing performance to maximize outcomes while ensuring a collaborative and engaged work environment.</p> <p>Lead the creation and support the implementation of an exemplary character education program for all NHA schools.</p> <p>Assess the effectiveness of character education programs in NHA schools based on feedback from stakeholders.</p> <p>Provide strategic support to select schools to improve their character education program, including coaching school leaders and/or instructional staff.</p> <p>Continuously improve the content of professional development for new NHA teachers as it relates to the expectations and evaluation rubric for instructional staff.</p> <p>Manage a character education specialist to enhance the K-12 character education curriculum and professional development opportunities, leveraging our asynchronous learning program, new teacher orientation, and other events as needed.</p> <p>Lead a cross-departmental committee and/or projects to increase the visibility of NHA's character education program among parents and school communities.</p> <p>Research best practices in classroom culture, character education, social-emotional learning, professional development, student learning, and other NHA-specific initiatives.</p> <p>Collaborate with the CEO, President and Chief Learning Officer, and Executive Director of C&I to share key information with the NHA Board and Senior Academic Team.</p> <p>Perform additional duties as assigned.</p> <p>Travel required on occasion.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Minimum of a BA required, with an advanced degree in education or business preferred.</p> <p>A minimum of 5 years of overall professional experience, including experience in K-12 schools.</p> <p>Experienced leadership in leading system-wide projects that positively impact schools and classrooms in the K-12 environment.</p> <p>Knowledge and understanding of current research-based pedagogy, practices, and requirements with respect to character education and social-emotional learning.</p> <p>Collaborative with demonstrated ability to work with both internal staff and external stakeholders.</p> <p>Outstanding presentation and communication skills with the experience and proclivity to be an outgoing spokesperson and relationship builder.</p> <p>Believes in and exemplifies NHA's core values and the importance of character education.</p> <p>This is an in-person position at our NHA Service Center located at 3850 Broadmoor Ave., Grand Rapids, MI.</p> <p>Please click here to learn more about our core values.</p> <p>National Heritage Academies is an equal opportunity employer.</p>
