<p>Reports to: Project Superintendent / Operations Manager</p> <p>FLSA:?Non-Exempt</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>The CDL-endorsed Water Truck Driver/Operator is responsible for operating and driving a water truck on various construction project sites to perform tasks as needed by the project team. The operator must hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and adhere to all applicable DOT regulations, company policies, industry standards, and site-specific safety protocols.</p> <p>This role involves safely and efficiently utilizing all functions of the water truck, including the hose reel, sprayers/nozzles, pumps, and water tank, to support construction activities such as dust control, potholing support, excavation, grading, and soil moisture conditioning. The operator is responsible for maintaining constant awareness of surrounding personnel, equipment, traffic, and site conditions, ensuring the safety of all workers operating in proximity to the water truck through clear communication and strict adherence to safety procedures.</p> <p>The Water Truck Operator is responsible for performing daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, completing required Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs), and reporting any mechanical, safety, or environmental concerns immediately. The role also includes routine equipment care such as fueling, cleaning, greasing, and basic preventative maintenance to ensure reliable and safe operation.</p> <p>In addition to operating the water truck, the operator is expected to support project teams on the ground as needed or directed. Work assignments will not always involve operating the water truck and may include assisting with general labor, site support, or other tasks within the operator's training and capabilities.</p> <p>The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, teamwork, flexibility, and professionalism while contributing to the overall success of construction operations.</p> <p>REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Core Duties / Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Professionally represents JHL Constructors and supports company strategic initiatives. </li><li>Safely operate a water truck on active construction sites, public roadways, and haul routes in accordance with company policies and DOT regulations </li><li>Complete accurate daily Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs), logbooks, and required DOT documentation </li><li>Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the water truck, including brakes, lights, tires, pumps, hoses, valves, and spray systems </li><li>Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as refilling water, greasing fittings, cleaning spray bars, and reporting mechanical issues promptly </li><li>Assist project teams as needed or as directed, performing ground support and labor activities when water truck operations are not required; work assignments will not always involve operating the water truck. </li><li>Fosters positive relationships with project teams, subcontractors, and business partners. </li><li>Adheres to safety protocols and company health and safety plans. </li><li>Participates in continuous improvement training programs to enhance skills and promote best practices. </li><li>Assists with miscellaneous department duties, administrative tasks, and team initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Education / Experience / Training:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma / GED. </li><li>Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required. Class B.
