<p>Position: Academic Tutor</p> <p>Position Type: Part-time, Temporary (Contractual Rate)</p> <p>Department: Special Education</p> <p>Location: Watertown Public Schools</p> <p>Reports to: Assistant Principal</p> <p>Salary range: Contractual Rate <em>please inquire</em></p> <p>Time Committment: Summer Hours Available</p> <p>General Description:</p> <p>Watertown Public Schools is seeking tutors to support students in a variety of academic areas before and after school. Coverage will be split between several applicants if needed.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Offer tutoring and academic support in literacy and numeracy </li><li>Assure students are making progress towards meeting their IEP goals and objectives </li><li>Assist students in completing assignments across subject areas </li><li>Provide guidance on executive functioning and study skills </li><li>Promote good habits to improve student outcomes and encourage development </li></ul> <p>Schedule:</p> <ul> <li>As determined between tutor and family </li></ul> <p>Qualifications Required:</p> <ul> <li>Organized, accountable, reliable, and collaborative </li><li>Strong communication skills; able to engage kindly and clearly at various levels </li><li>Ability to develop and strengthen students' academic skills through assistance and tutoring </li><li>Youth-friendly, adaptable, tolerant, and able to understand adolescent behavior </li><li>Flexible and able to shift focus as needed </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>The position may require moving between classrooms and actively supervising students in different spaces.
