<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Ledyard Public Schools is looking to hire a dependable and skilled custodian. The ability to follow written and oral instructions while relating to students, staff and public in a courteous manner is required and experience with building cleaning, routine maintenance and groundskeeping is preferred.</p> <p>The position requirements include:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge and demonstrated skills related to daily cleaning and building maintenance; including but not limited to operation of floor and restroom cleaning machines, waxing and stripping of floors and general cleaning and disinfecting </li><li>Previous experience in custodial routines and procedures preferred </li><li>Grounds keeping experience a plus </li><li>Good interpersonal relationship skills </li><li>Demonstrated record of reliable performance and attendance </li><li>Ability to lift and carry objects of 25 - 50 lbs </li><li>Hours Monday/Tuesday through Friday/Saturday, may include nights </li></ul> <p>Pay and benefits in accordance with Ledyard BOE and Local 1303 of Council #4 AFSCME, AFL-CIO agreement.</p> <p>Pay: $22.65 per hour</p> <p>Benefits to include:</p> <ul> <li>Medical, dental and vision coverage </li><li>Paid time off </li><li>403(b) and 457 retirement plan with employer match </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements of the Job:</p> <ul> <li>Frequent walking, bending, twisting and lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks </li><li>Continuous use of hand strength to grasp tools and cleaning equipment and climb on ladders </li><li>Push/pull items such as tables, stacked chairs, bleachers, and/or cleaning equipment </li></ul> <p>Fingerprinting / background check is a condition of employment, and at the applicant's expense.</p> <p>To Apply:</p> <p>Applications will only be accepted online.
