<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Full-Time Special Education Teacher - 2025-2026 School Year</p> <p>Kolbe Cathedral Preparatory School - Bridgeport, CT</p> <p>Overview:</p> <p>Passionate & qualified Special Education Teacher needed for a full-time (40 hrs/wk, M-F 7:45 AM - 3:00 PM) role. Plan, organize, & implement personalized instruction for diverse learners. Supervise classroom staff, providing coaching & support. Integral member of the Student Support Referral Team (SSRT), offering neurodiversity expertise for accommodations & modifications. Conduct educational & cognitive assessments. Support an inclusive learning environment fostering academic, social-emotional, & spiritual growth. Seeking candidates with CT Comprehensive Special Education PreK-12 Certification (165), those pursuing a Special Education Master's, or experienced individuals working with learning disabilities. Co-teach using differentiated, evidence-based strategies. Lead meaning-making through scaffolded/thematic instruction. Provide small group instruction (academic, executive functioning, life skills). Conduct Academic & Cognitive Assessments. </li><li>Program Development: Collaborate on educational programs. Conduct formal/informal assessments for program development. Support master schedule development (co-taught classes, interventions). </li><li>Student & Staff Supervision: Train & supervise classroom staff. Lead differentiated curriculum development (Math, Science, ELA, Social Studies - College Prep, Honors, AP). Identify & develop relevant professional development. </li><li>Communication & Reporting: Maintain regular parent communication. Write quarterly progress reports. Participate in parent-teacher meetings & interdisciplinary teams.
