<p>Job Summary</p> <p>Key player in the financial reporting team, leading the organization through new financial reporting requirements and improvements to the control environment as we continue to drive business growth. Recommend and assist in the implementation and execution of changes to the Company's processes, procedures and/or accounting policies needed for long-term sustainability and efficiency. Actively participate in the preparation, review and analysis of the Company's financial performance and management of its financial goals. This role will work closely with areas within Corporate Finance, Actuarial and other teams.</p> <p>Principal Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Support the successful adoption of accounting standards including the integration of LDTI into the current financial reporting environment. </li><li>Drive new and evolving financial reporting requirements to meet the demands of our growth objectives. </li><li>Identify, implement, and maintain sound accounting processes and controls, evaluating and addressing appropriateness of documentation. </li><li>Update financial reporting policies and procedures as required by regulatory bodies and ensure compliance. </li><li>Research and document accounting and financial reporting issues, seeing them through to resolution. </li><li>Continuously improve the reporting infrastructure to maintain a high degree of integrity over reported results. </li><li>Provide critical consultative support to Corporate Finance, Actuarial and other teams. </li><li>Liaise with internal and external auditors. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related required. </li><li>Master's degree in accounting, finance or related preferred. </li><li>Professional accounting designation, CPA preferred. </li><li>5-10 years' experience in an accounting or finance role with SEC reporting, financial services industry (insurance experience preferred). </li><li>In depth knowledge of advanced accounting principles with the ability to quickly apply to new, frequently complex business situations. </li><li>Experience with Workiva, PeopleSoft general ledger and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Strong project management and influencing skills while working in a tight deadline. </li><li>Great people skills at all levels of the organization. </li></ul> <p>Compensation</p> <p>Nassau maintains a holistic compensation philosophy focused on competitive base salaries, performance driven incentives, and unique professional development opportunities.
